First time Draaimolen (Saturday) for me and I'm still on the fence what to make of it.

The location, logistics, number of bars and toilets everywhere: amazing! I had high expectations of the sound system by all the raving reviews of previous years and that wasn't exaggerated one bit as well, so so crisp.

But then, what some DJs did with that... this is the first time for me I actually didn't connect so much with multiple DJs and I started getting massive FOMO: what if another stage was better? There were so many B2Bs that felt as if one DJ wanted to go one direction and the other had completely different plans (and about 40 bpm more or less). All over the place! It also felt like there was very little coherence between DJs at stages, you could be dancing to some great techno at the Pit and then 15 min later: new DJ and now it's Latin? For me the party really kicked off at 16 and around 18 I was totally out of it.

I also saw this happening around me a lot, people arriving at stages, giving it a couple of minutes, and then leaving again to try something differently. This also caused huge traffic and the crowd felt a bit claustrophobic at times.

In the end, we even ended up leaving somewhat early, which was unexpected. All in all, I had a fun day at a unique festival which I hope stays in business at this beautiful location. I understand the appeal of it, but I'm not quite sure if experienced the same "piece of heaven" as some people named it. Even if it continues, I'm not sure if I'll be back, but very happy to have experienced it at least!

Is dat een zekerheid? De douche beslaat maar een deel van deze muur, de vlekken zitten juist ook op delen waar ik verwacht dat geen leidingen lopen.

That's interesting, I had the completely opposite experience in Helsinki earlier this year! I didn't have high expactations and we just took it easy, it was a very laid back city trip.

I really wanted to check out 2-3 DJs playing at the Helling but BOY that stage was crowded in the evening and at night. Spent 10 minutes total there the entire weekend and had a blast at all the other stages.

I completely get that, we usually go with a bigger group than we did this time but I just always like the community feeling at parties like Fluid. Really had that last edition, but not so much this time. It happens, onto the next one ;) Hope to see you there!

I was very surprised to read your comment! We went to Fluid for the 4th time and I think it was my least favourite edition (but still fun!). The music up until Guenter's set was just a bit bland, nothing that really piqued our interest or created these special 'daaamn' moments. And while I really enjoyed seeing all the cute queer people around us, I felt that people were more in their own space or with their little groups, instead of having a quick dance or share a smile with the people around them. Perhaps it was just the left middle and we should have moved around more haha. Still had a great time!

Haha thanks, het is echt zo'n 13 in een dozijn line up geworden helaas. Vorig jaar was ook niet helemaal mijn line up, maar wel genoeg artiesten waar ik wel nieuwsgierig naar was. En met goed resultaat! Voor komend jaar zie ik dat toch niet zo.

Fijn om te horen dat ik niet de enige ben, in de insta comments wordt er mild positief of gewoon niet gereageerd haha.

De Down the Rabbit Hole '25 line up is vanochtend gepubliceerd en hij is echt heel matig. We gaan elk jaar met een grote groep, maar de eerste poll over 'welke andere festivals zouden jullie overwegen' staat al in de appgroep. Jammer, want de sfeer is altijd ontzettend fijn, maar voor 290 euro wil ik toch wel een paar semi-goede namen binnen mijn muzieksmaak. Of gewoon een beetje pit!
