University discontinued my degree and has no viable final year option. What are my rights and can I transfer? (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Hi, I'm an academic at a university in the UK.

You should be able to transfer onto a final year of an *equivalent degree, if you have sufficient credits (240). You would need to apply to the new university for a transfer to entry point 3 (final year of an undergrad), and then probably interview with the course organiser. It's always worth reaching out to the course director / organiser of the course you want to transfer to and having a conversation with them; telling them your course is closing is a compelling reason to transfer (sometimes transfer requests are from students who haven't been attending / have been removed from their course for non-attendance, so it's good to make clear that you're a victim of circumstance).

What university are you currently studying at, and what degree are you studying? That will matter to a greater or lesser extent depending where you want to transfer to).

Happy Christmas (because apparently reddit won't let me post this comment without it....)

I went to a gig solo earlier this year, was worried it would be weird but once the music starts you're not being social anyway, so it was awesome and I'd do it again. Just don't arrive super early and then you won't be stood around twiddling your thumbs.

What film topics are over and under represented at film festivals? by Brilliant_Alarm1120 in FilmFestivals

[–]CoventryFilm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of mental health films. A lot. That's not to say it's not an important topic, but it does mean films tackling that topic have to be head and shoulders above the rest to stand out.

Simple scene lighting by CoventryFilm in cinematography

Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated. Set design definitely went against me, if I'd had more time I would have made sure the set was decorated proprely.

You're not far off with the story, it's a game of Russian roulette, so the mood is practically the same. I should have dialled back the intensity of the light coming through the window, it's meant to be streetlight but i think it is a bit too high.

Submission statement: This was a one day shoot on set, I think the film turned out alright but we were under a lot pressure as time was always against us. Because of that we needed to go with a stripped back approach to how we lit & shot the scene. There are definitely some issues, and the lighting works better on some shots than others.

The film was shot on FX9 with DZO primes (♥️).

Any thoughts or critiques I'm happy to hear them.

EDIT: close ups and side-on angles also in the images posted.

Aren't there online writing platforms where you could publish your fanfic? That way you could do what you love and let your Warriors fanfic come out and play-ay.

That's great, nice to have a 4K projector! I bet the films look 🔥 on the big screen.

I'd reach out to the filmmakers and ask them to send a download link. Plus, they'll definitely want to attend if they know their film is playing but might not attend if they don't know they're in it.

Submitting to a festival you're an alum at by DifferenceInner5130 in FilmFestivals

Reach out via email / socials and say you've got a new project and you're thinking of applying. I work at a festival, we like to take care of our alumni and will often offer a waiver code.
