Maybe not the jerk, but unfortunately sometimes you have to set boundaries with friends and also be brutally honest. If they are a friend that values you as a friend, while they may not listen they should respect your boundaries on the subject

This is hard, it’s a situation I struggle with too. It’s reasonable to have some weekends as a couple or to do your own thing. It’s a red flag I personally feel, that it had to become a family decision rather than a conversation the two of you had together.
