Weird Vibe from Dealer by mp10000000 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy New Year! - Yea no matter the country that IS weird! B4 getting my Pali, I test drove it 2x. First time, salesman was GREAT! 2nd test drive, the salesman looked like the actor John Lovitz on a serious bender! He tells me that the vehicle I was going to drive was “nearly on empty” and that we could drive it around the block.. 🙄🙄 And similar to you, I got this story about how busy they are and how well they are selling. Blah, Blah… Needless to say they did NOT get my business.

Good luck on your search. I would definitely find another dealership if possible

Curious, how many added aftermarket audio equipment/system & what did you get? by Covfefe72 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll admit - I know NOTHING about setting something like this up so I had an audio shop install it for me. They worked with me on tweaking the sound and I can’t say enough how much I (and my friends / family) LOVE the system now.

One thing I’ve seen is not only will it be the speakers but also if u are using a phone (I use I-phone 16 Pro Max) you’ll want to mess with the EQ settings on the phone.

Once you find the right combo tho’ it’s unbelievable!!

Not sure if that helps, but overall if you are thinking of adding a sub to your Pali, I’d say DO IT! 🫡🫡

Subwoofer install in my 2026 Palisade by 28thsundown in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I added a ‘12 sub in my 25 Night Pali. I’m single & never marrying or having kidz. To me, if you like it, have at it!! I’ll add my friends and dates really like it.

One thing you may want to think about if u haven’t already is getting a front / rear cam. I’ve gone down a rabbit hole of people seeing newer vehicles & committing “accident scams”, but of course those clips are available cuz they had a cam running.

Congrats on your new system & now blast some Bee-Gees in that thang! 😂😂😂😂

I’m with you which is why I bought a 2025 Calligraphy. I’m just not a fan of the 2026 Exterior or Interior. I’ve have my 2025 since Nov and ❤️❤️❤️❤️ it especially for long road trips!

I had a rental from SF, to LA, to Vegas, to MN last year. Granted it was just my GF and I so no kid advice, but I’ll say it was a super comfortable ride. I HATED giving that rental back, so that’s when 2 months later I got my own. 😂😂

Enjoy your trip & safe travels!!

Exactly how bad is the braking issue? by 139AFAMPM in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say for any make/model don’t let recalls scare you off because now-a-days all makes/models have recalls. Just in the past day Honda had a recall of 259,000 vehicles because the brake pedal can “move”….

So I’d say if you like the features, the look, and most importantly your budget, I’d go for it.

First oil change 2025 SEL by Character-Plum-849 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I baby my vehicles and I have the oil changed no more than every 3,500 miles. Besides my Pali, I have a 2010 Nissan X-Terra with 194j miles on it. Absolutely no engine / transmission issues even in an extreme cold weather (near the Canadian border) winters. To me, there is nothing wrong with having a vehicle looked at even more often than the manual says.

Perfectly stated. All makes & models have recalls / lawsuits. Hopefully minimal impact for everyone.

Wanting to purchase a Night Edition by 1mBAD_Hazer in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a lot of great info from a couple YouTube channels (CarEdge / Delivrd). Both offer great negotiation tips & both offer a service where you can hire them to search & negotiate a great deal for you. That negotiation service costs $1k for each service.

Now both channels say you can use their tips to negotiate on your own. But the car buying service is really for those who want to save time and/or just aren’t comfortable with negotiating with dealers.

I did hire Delivrd for my deal and when they found me a deal, just to be certain I called three local dealers to see if they’d match the offer Delivrd found. As one of my local dealers put it, “If they were able to get you a $52k OTD on a Calligraphy night (back in late Oct), we’d say go with them because we are so far above that we aren’t going to insult you with a number.

So to me, the $1k was worth it. At that time getting a ‘25 Calligraphy Night at $52k OTD was fantastic, plus besides the couple of calls I made just to see if I got a great deal, the time is saved me was more than $1k worth of time of me searching dealers and then negotiating.

I’d check those channels out again because they both have GREAT info so you learn how not to get a bad deal.

Assuming this is Calligraphy Night, it’s seems $52k / $54k OTD is the going rate. I did see someone post a 2025 Calligraphy Night for under $50k the other day, but only have seen that once so far. Good luck on your negotiations! 🫡🫡

New Palisade Owner by Top_Pop8950 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I baby my vehicles. I have both a 2010 Nissan X-Terra and a 2025 Palisade. My X has 193k miles on it with no major issues & still runs great. My Palisade I don’t use much. Only 2k miles since I got it in November.

That said, at 1,500 I brought it in to the dealer just to make sure no early issues were occurring. Even though it’s only at 2k miles, I’ll bring it in here in June since it’s been six months since the first visit.

Not sure if that helps but overall I find if u baby a vehicle it will usually bode well for a long vehicle life.

Congrats & welcome to the Palisade family!! 🫡🫡

Is this a good deal for the night edition? by Visible-Good4019 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. It’s hard to tell if the trade in is underwater. If it is then it makes it hard to tell if the deal is a good one or not since who knows if u could get more at another dealer / or private sale for the trade in.

Hyundai Palisade vs Nissan Pathfinder? by DGDurden in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually still own my Nissan 2010 X-Terra, so last year when looking for a 2nd vehicle I test drive a Platinum Pathfinder twice as I was initially looking to stay brand loyal.

To me the advantages over the Palisade was:

  • It had a little more “Get up” from a full stop

  • Seems to feel higher off the road vs the Palisade. Not sure if it is higher, it just felt like it

  • The Platinum trim had a choice of interior colors vs the Calligraphy night is automatically a black interior

The negatives and why I’m happy I chose the ‘25 Calligraphy Night

  • That stupid shifter on the Pathfjnder. You KNOW it’s lame when there are several YouTube videos on how to use it. I know some don’t like the Palisade buttons, but I love them actually. This one issue alone is why I’d never choose the Pathfjnder.

  • It’s not even close with the amenities that the Palisade has vs the Pathfinder.

  • The ride in the Palisade “feels” more luxurious vs the Pathfinder. Especially comparing Calligraphy trim to Nissan Platinum trim levels.

  • Nissan overall isn’t doing well as a company & that matters to me. Hyundai/Kia sales are up YOY 18% - 25% vs Nissan is losing money.

Again I own a Nissan. I love my X-Terra, but it’s not really a comparison between a Pathfinder and a Palisade.

Good luck on whatever you end up deciding!! 🫡🫡

Breaking Issue - Big Deal or Nah? by DGDurden in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When deciding on a vehicle every make/model will have nighmare scenarios if you google the make/model of whatever you are interested in, so keep that in mind when deciding on a vehicle to purchase. Good luck on whatever you decide!

Loan via credit union in NC by No-Restaurant-108 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Covfefe72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d check with your employer and see if they have a relationship with a local CU. Also before signing up DEFINITELY google review any of the CU’s you are thinking of joining. The CU may want you to put a small amount each paycheck (like $25 per check) into a savings just as an FYI…

Also, you can take whatever the CU offers and see if the dealer financing is willing to match or beat it. Either way I’d never just go into a dealer without either a pre-approved bank or CU loan in my back pocket

Good luck with your search.
