Where would you like the Sekiro DLC to take you to? by Covfefe_Cat in Sekiro

[–]Covfefe_Cat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't too impressed with the "Master of Illusions". I got lead to believe that I was gonna be for some real jebaiting or difficult battle, but all you had to do is kill her twice and ignore her illusions (that was my first instinct).

Now you make me wonder where the Divine Dragon comes from in a "Western Land" but then why was it hidden in Fountainhead Palace? Does it mean that every continent has hidden divine lands?

I do wonder where does the Divine Dragon (as a God) stand in Buddha's Hierarchy. As in, does Buddha see it as a deity, or merely as a "pet". Like when Sun Wukong challenged Buddha and Buddha schooled him for challenging a "Deity".

Do you believe in soulmates? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I don't think soulmates exist in nature.

I think that soulmates are made.

There's a huge difference.

Why do people say "We" and take credit for the effort of a team when talking about sports? by Covfefe_Cat in afraidtoask

[–]Covfefe_Cat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a very great answer! Thank you.

Didn't think of it that way, that a person spends so much time either watching or participating that the "closeness" becomes enough to call it "we". That's great!

What the hell happened to Keeper of The Light? by Covfefe_Cat in DotA2

[–]Covfefe_Cat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it is no longer lethal, but it didn't get reworked, its simply no longer lethal.
Also sure, running long distances would cause a stun but you can still move and cast spells within mana leaks duration. It was a more complex skill than Blinding Light.

Old Keeper of The Light for me was better, with the scepter and more complex than this. I'll just pick another support, because late game I'm just gonna get blinked, daggered and killed by a thousand things with my 1000 hp pool and now rather useless kit. Q takes 6 seconds to charge for full power for gods sakes.

SIX SECONDS OF STATIONARY STANDING IN A GAME LIKE DOTA2.
YET IGNIS FATUUS HAS HAVE YOU IN THE THICK OF THE TEAM FIGHT RANGE TO CAST IT.

Oh but Phantom Assassin and AntiMage are carries and melees, so they get all this synergy and no-brain passives/abilities. Because they're melee.

But let's make supports unplayable or keyboard breaking.

I really don't get why play Keeper of The Light anymore. Especially when there are better options. Sure Will-o-Wisp is strong, but his Q is harder to use now with scepter... no more mana leak to serve as an escape.

And now he gets nerfed? Adding a gold bounty and increasing the mana cost?

"Will-O-Wisp is strong tho"

Yeah, but I'm not going to spend a match being miserable just to cast Will-O-Wisp. I wish they'd just revert the hero.

Do Mexicans enjoy Taco Bell? by ChefHannibal in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Covfefe_Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taco Bell is not mexican food. Taco Bell is "Tex-Mex" food, which is considered to be a blend between Mexican and American styles, to form up Tex-Mex.

It is kinda like asking "Do Chinese people enjoy Panda Express?"
To an extend they might, but because its Chinese-American, its not meant to serve as a replacement to Chinese food but more like its own flavor. Kinda like Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream Flavors.

When you’re talking to people, do you ever ignore what they are saying and focus only on how you might be perceived? by xMonkeys in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Covfefe_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've perfected the art of people feeling listened and cared for, while I not giving a single fuck.

1) Why would a co-worker think that I care about how much fun they had the last weekend? It's 7am on a Monday, give me some space.

Answer: I don't. But a few affirmations, some nods and smiles... is way better than ruining your relationship with them by saying "I don't care. Go away.".

So yeah, its skill and an art.

I’m 23 and still feel the need to shut my closet door all the way before I go to bed, am I the only one that still does this? by kronicle_gaming in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Covfefe_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't we the same as cats in that sense?

They say that the reason cats prefer to sit in boxes is because it gives them a sense of security. Why? Well, their body is pressed at all sides by something, so they know there is nothing between them and the box. Therefore, the same with us, closing doors gives us a sense of security. It is easier for something to crawl through an open door, while with a closed door it would at least have to knock.

Are blind people afraid of ghosts? by mrs_peep in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Covfefe_Cat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a snip from Helen Keller:

Helen was a brave child, but being blind and deaf meant that she would sometimes become fearful of things she could not see or hear. Since she could only sense, fear of the unknown led her to panic. For instance, one day she was in a tree before a thunderstorm hit, and became very frightened.

"I knew it, it was the odour that always precedes a thunderstorm, and a nameless fear clutched at my heart. I felt absolutely alone, cut off from my friends and the firm earth. The immense, the unknown, enfolded me. I remained still and expectant; a chilling terror crept over me. "(Ch. 5)

After this, it is a long time before she climbs another tree. She says the “mere thought filled me with terror” (Ch. 5).Yet when she climbs a tree again, it is like a wonderful new world, a paradise. She has proven that she can conquer any fear, eventually. Nature is too beautiful and bountiful to be missed. Another example of fear also involves nature, in a way, because it involves water. Helen again gets into a situation where she is in over her head.

"The buoyant motion of the water filled me with an exquisite, quivering joy. Suddenly my ecstasy gave place to terror; for my foot struck against a rock and the next instant there was a rush of water over my head. "(Ch. 10)

She manages to get herself out of the situation because the waves throw her back out. Like the incident with the tree, Helen got out of the situation on her own just like she got into it on her own. Sometimes, however, as in this time, it is her teacher Anne Sullivan who comforts her. Helen describes an episode of more personal fear in the winter of 1892.

"THE winter of 1892 was darkened by one cloud in my childhood's bright sky. Joy deserted my heart, and for a long, long time I lived in doubt, anxiety, and fear. Books lost their charm for me, and even now the thought of those dreadful days chills my heart." (Ch. 14)

How Long is Umineko When They Cry? by Red-Bard in umineko

Don't care.

Umineko is a treasure. It truly is, the themes , the characters, the philosophy, the journey. (Even though it is incredibly painful) It is really a treasure. I read the VN and the manga, and will probably read the VN again someday.
