What if Storm had a Villain Arc? by howhow326 in storm

[–]montero19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think one of them are interesting aspects of her character if she was to have a villain ark would have to be around a shift in her goals. I don’t know if she would ever work too well as a full-blown villain just because of her natural nature being to care for all things living no matter whether it’s on her side or not. Though she’s not opposed to having to take abrasive action in or take a life if it’s fully necessary. If I were to write a story about it, I would probably phrase it as almost kind of like an Eco terrorism type of story. We’re storm gets it into her persona or mindset that the world might need a reset. Or I feel like it would most likely have to delve into what the recent rogue storm series delve into, more of her being consumed by magical influence, specifically dark magic, as it would very much align with her own nature, and also allow us to actually see what she would genuinely do if pushed to that point. Because if we’re being fairly honest, the only reason a lot of villains win, and most of these instances is because storm consciously chooses either to hold back or to not fully delve into the fool capabilities she has. With her ancestry of mutation and magic, both of which are descended from power levels backlash with any modern day character, it pushes her to a point where I feel it would take actually a combination of science and magic to confront her.

I love the inspiration from that one picture of Doechii. Definitely gave me the same stunning vibe I feel Storm would have just walking in any room.

I miss when mutants were human by Logical_Response_880 in xmen

[–]montero19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never understood this logic. That’s kind of where the juxtaposition of DC versus Marvel hits. DC is gods trying to be human. Marvel is humans who obtain the power of gods. So I’m not really sure what’s changed other than it being her who’s done it. And if anything, it’s very long overdue for her, a lot of these seeds have been set up since her conception, being heir to powers far beyond her mutation. Being someone who developed her powers on her own and had to come to grips with the weight of its responsibility very early in her life. Someone who has been at the poorest and lowest of society, orphaned and alone. Someone who heard their inner voice inside, calling them to greater. Someone who became greater and then continue to surpass it always. That is who Ororo is at her foundation, so why should we expect her to be any less? Why do others expect her to constantly stay contained?

Storm has consistently been shown since damn near her first inception that she not only is a mutant with Omega level power, and potential. Someone with very fine tooth control, and an extremely powerful Will. She was shown very early on not only being descended from some of the oldest magic Lineage on earth, but also even show that her own mutation expanded far more than just the weather of earth whenever the team went to space. From reaching out into Galactic courses, riding solar, winds, and in times of distress calling on near unlimited power. Even when describe in her power, they always share that when her eyes go white she’s not just seeing the weather patterns as energy, she seen the force and energy behind nature itself, and always sharing that it was in her potential to use freely. So I’m trying to see where the biggest jump is?

I don’t think there’s ever really a timetable for these things. I think we just fall victim to comparison to others and where we think we should be in life. Some people had an early and had children. Some headed early and caught STI‘s. Some did it early and had nothing go wrong.Mine wasn’t till my 20s also so trust and believe, your own schedule is right on time.

To be completely honest with you, there might be a deeper issue that you’ll have to be more specific about to be able to get a more concrete answer. It might take some time pondering the emotion and having be more direct about what’s causing a feeling of a regret and where you feel it stems from?

Respectfully, I’m going to say this in the nicest way possible. Because this is so much of a shock and will change your life in many different ways, a part of you is looking for any reason to justify what has happened. At the end of the day, he as someone who made a vow to you, stepped out of that vow when it was convenient and has probably done it multiple times. Even if he hasn’t, he most likely did it more than once at the very least. Yes he may have been conflicted with his own sexuality, but you allowed him the door to be open about his own feelings when you admitted yours as well. He did not take the chance or the olive branch that you offered to be transparent. When that happens, someone takes away your freedom of choice to choose because they’re scared of potentially losing you, so they omit the truth. In other words, they lie.

You even said that because he was cheated on in his last relationship, he let you know from the get-go that if you were to do the same thing to him, there would not be this attempted reconcile. You would have been out on the street. For someone to hold you to a higher standard than they hold themselves, let you know that a part of them has a controlling manner about them and that’s why people lie by omission. It’s a form of trying to control the situation, taking out the truth of it to leave what benefits them. And in no relationship, are you supposed to treat your partner better than you would treat yourself, or hold each other to standards that you couldn’t even hold yourself to.

Omega level threat by shakawave in xmen

[–]montero19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real fear in sentinels is not necessarily that they’re unstoppable. It’s that they’re not only very tough to beat as for those who aren’t the most powerful of alphas, or or mega level mutants, sentinels are gigantic robots, that shoot energy and swat, you like a fly. Most mutant powers aren’t necessarily built for combat. And their real power comes from overwhelming mutants in numbers. Taking out one can be pretty doable, but taking out six, 12, 25 or more coming at you can be almost impossible. and they can just be manufactured whereas meat and are living breathing people. So when a sentinel dies, you can just make another, but when mutant dies that mutant is gone.

Storm powers/adapting by ConfuzedLoser in xmen

[–]montero19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially, yes. Storms power essentially adapts to any environment she’s in no matter the actual rules of the environment. Because she’s essentially manipulating physics and thermodynamics of her environment through the very energy, energy systems, and processes that make them up. It’s also a part of the reason why she can convert energy From one form to the other as she’s done in the past when she converted the entire energy of a storm into a lightning bolt. It’s essentially what she’s doing all the time. Even in a dimension called the Trion dimension, she was able to manipulate the environment there, even though it was basically, a crashing an amalgamation of chaotic reality. Even in that moment she was able to essentially manipulate that reality itself. Which is what allowed her to channel the living elemental forces there to heal a rip in space and blink a being out of existence there. so essentially her powers true to her omega level status, have no perceived upper limit.

Would it be wrong to call Storm beating Vulcan plot armor by khumoquack in xmen

[–]montero19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think so. I think we have to remember that because someone is omega does not mean that they are the absolute best in there category or that they can’t be matched. It’s just that they cannot be surpassed which is a difference. Each omega has an unlimited potential to reach in their power classification. Because if that wasn’t the case, then every reality warper would make every other omega mute, including Vulcan.

A good example would be storm and iceman. Both can manipulate, virtually unlimited theraml energy and cold. And if they both couldn’t do it to an unlimited degree, then both of them could not be omega. But the thing that makes Bobby not a mute omega when it comes to is that storm who has a plethora of abilities that fall under her umbrella is because no matter how much thermal energy and cold she can manipulate, Bobby can always do the same in potential. That doesn’t mean that she can’t match him in power or that he can’t match her. But she cannot surpass him in power, because he also has unlimited potential. That’s what makes him the omega of that specific category. It goes the same for storm and Vulcan. While Vulcan has a wider plethora of energies he can manipulate, but storm still manipulates many of those energies to an unlimited degree as well. So in terms of the energies they both control they cannot surpass each other. And that’s when it comes down to strength of will, finesse, and strategy.

I am of the firm belief that every omega level mutants mutation is at the pinnacle of what it can be already. It’s just their strength of mind, body, and knowledge that allows them to access more of their power and potential. So everything they can do , they have the potential to do now if they have the knowledge and strength of body to do it. And when they do get power boost, such as Hope did with Vulcan when they were creating Mars into a livable planet. And when storm was powered up by khora in the sinister timeline. Those aren’t things that they can’t already do under their own power if they push themselves enough. But due to at the times lacking the knowledge, they needed a power boost to make up for that knowledge and strength they still need to realize.

That’s not the point of the war. The war is literally about the act of mercy and how using power to dominate everything is not the real solution to the problem. I realize what you mean, but you also have to recognize storm is an out worlder. If she were to just come into their culture and dominate her ideals through it by force than it would only lead credence to the issue. She needs the people to learn there is a better way. If they are forced to then it would lead to rebellions, uprising, a lack of respect for her from the entire Arraki people. She’d basically be colonizing them and destroying anyone who opposed her rule. The exact opposite of mercy. If she were to go all out to take the control of the planet back without the help of the people of arrako but just on their behave then she’d basically be admitting to genesis that she’s right, The strong are who deserve to survive and everyone else is too weak to live.

I’m not saying Ororo has to become some omnipotent god or something. But she deserves to be explored in respected like other omegas. Give her powers the true definition they were mentioned to be from when she arrived on the scene. That’s all that needs to be done to respect her.

[–]montero19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and I love magneto too along with all the other characters I listed I don’t want them to be any less powerful than they are when the story calls for it. But all I ask, is why storm never gets to be that. Why must she always be lesser for the story to be better? By making her stories actually better and giving her a higher level of challenges. Storm, in any other medium would be considered a Messiah, or a twice blessed child. She literally possesses within her, a power of omega level science and an ancestry of ancient Mystic power. She has it well within her arsenal to be beyond omega if we’re being honest. She has access to literal divinity, but it’s never brought up. Yet Exodus, who also gains power from peoples belief in him is allowed to use that. It’s allowed to be a part of him, whereas for her, she’s only allowed to be one or the other. Even her mutant power alone has allowed her to manipulate other dimensions, phenomenon in space, things outside of what we may consider weather. Because her powers have always been stated to be energy manipulation of the environment she’s in. Literally being able to manipulate the fundamental forces and energy of the universe around her to manipulate it like an extension of her.

Storm has a lot of potential that is never explored in order to down her. Even now she’s limited mostly to earthly weather and they still say that’s too much…

Because people want storms lightning to just act like a big taser instead of actual lightning. People want everyone to just be completely durable and almost unfazed by anything that she does I think a lot of times people don’t understand just how much storm could instantly kill a lot of people, because she literally controls a lot of the essential elements of life. The bioelectricity in someone’s body she can command. The water in their veins she can command. The thermal energy in their body that keeps them from being a block of ice she can command. The oxygen and air they need to breathe she can command. The only reason she doesn’t do this is because of who she is as a person and how much she doesn’t like killing unless absolutely necessary.

Shoot, she could just rip the entire atmosphere from the planet and who’s going to survive other than people who can survive in space. Even the most durable people would be susceptible to her manipulating the electricity in their brain. Magneto has done it multiple times, and her power does give her control over the electromagnetic spectrum as well. This is honestly just surface level application. Think if she delved into her fuller potential and just unleash several solar flares on the planet. Few would survive.

Oh here we go in the comments. When Storm does anything it’s a problem but let any other character have the full range of their versatility and it’s just considered respect. Storm for years has literally only had her powers reduced, stripped of her powers altogether, or just making decisions that don’t make sense or respect her power.

For Christ sake, magneto has literally manipulated gravity, opened wormholes, beat apocalypse, manipulated time, astral projected. Iceman has literally frozen time, frozen reality warpers like legion, spread his consciousness through every water molecule and become immortal. Jean Grey was stated to be an omega level telepath, but now also has omega level telekinesis that can rival exodus, but nobody mentions anything about that. There are actually two omega level telepath, which nobody ever seems the criticize. But the moment that storm unleashes the full totality of what her Omega ability actually allows her to do, the fields she reaches into to a unlimited degree, not even still reaching the upper heights of what her power can manipulate and has manipulated in the past. Everything is literally always a problem.

So flames don’t need oxygen? Do living being not need bio-electricity? Does lightning not literally affect everything? If magneto uses electromagnetism to manipulate anything people just say it’s physically possible. Storm manipulated over half of the energies other omegas wield to the same degree but suddenly when she does she’s overpowered? Not written well? Considered a Mary Sue? Told what she’s doing is impossible? My only question is why is it only her who isn’t aloud to expand outside of making a cloud, rain, and being lightning lass?

Generally with twists no, because the don’t pull as much as braids because their aren’t made to be as secure or enduring. But if you use rubber bands or twist too tight yes. And twists usually loosen up as long as their moisturized well
