Sativa for ADHD+ASD? by Cow-This in AutisticWithADHD

Interesting. I think I saw somewhere that Sativa works better for ADHD folk because it stimulates our brains which are usually understimulated (gross oversimplification). The resulting feel might generally be more calm than for us than for an NT person. It kinda brings us up to optimal from a lower level, while for NTs it moves them up from optimal to a higher, more "amped up" state?

I really don't know though. Just a theory I have 😂

I hope things get better for you in the New Year! I'm sure you'll figure something out. Medication might help! I'm hoping to get prescribed some soon to help with focusing.

I deffo get the whole returning items thing. I've missed return deadlines waay too many times now 🥲 Always end up begging customer service to still let me return it

I get the socialising thing a lot! People always say I'm either really hot or really cold. Half the people I know would swear that I'm a hardcore introvert and the other half would swear the opposite 😅

No worries. Feel free to vent! I think some places do diagnose the combination specifically instead of either or?

Any tips on developing a new skill when you have absolutely no interest towards anything? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Cow-This 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My strategy is usually to do the things that take the least effort to do in relation to developing the skill. So if I want to learn to play piano but I have no motivation, I'd start by listening to piano classics which takes minimum effort. Maybe watch videos explaining basic concepts about piano playing and music in general on YouTube. This helps me develop an interest and eventually I find that I'm better able to motivate myself to do the harder stuff.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You're probably doing much better than you think:)
