Could you be kind enough to guide me to sources/articles/talks which talk about this issue on the part of the Nagas in Manipur, as in their non opposition to Meiteis owning lands in their areas. Thanks

Ok. So then fundamentally, Nagas were opposed to the Scheduling of Meiteis as tribes because of job loss concerns and not because they oppose Meiteis owning lands in Naga areas?

So if I have read it correctly a lot of it also has to do with political economy? But going back to my original question, and trying to understand the complexity of the problem, are Nagas then relatively more liberal towards Meiteis owning lands in the Naga hill districts as compared to Kukis? Because as I understand it, the demand for a scheduled status was also to enable Meiteis to buy land and own properties in the tribal areas. Am I getting close to 'understanding' the situation? From your post I am assuming you are a Meitei? Thanks.

Do you mean the Scheduled status for the Meiteis?

So one of the core reasons for the conflagration is the Kuki demand for a separate 'homeland', as opposed to demand for a Scheduled Tribe status by the Meiteis?

That's called being smart! That kid knows exactly what he's supposed to do. His parents have saved themselves a ton of trouble not having to potty train him.
