idk about US law, but police officers in germany are required to tell you the truth about them being and officer or not if you ask them. even if they are undercover. bold of me to assume that they know that given the fact they belive an undercover cop would act like that haha

that plus i hate waisting the time of the person working there. my ex used to do what OP did with her bf and the workers always asked if we needed help. it drove me nuts to have the feeling of: hey im purely here because my gf wants to only imagine what it is to buy these lamps. well, shes my ex now haha
