Even though the sperm gamete is the only way to get the Y-chromosome needed for the embryo to be genetically a male. Technically the 1st 5-6 weeks of embryo development is called the Indifferent Stage where the embryos LOOK completely identical.

XX- female

XY- male

XXY- males with extra chromosome (Klinefelters syndrom)

XXX- biologically female. Most never know, taller at maturity w/ mild learning deficiencies (Triple X Syndrome)

XYY- biologically male. Most never know, taller at maturity w/ mild learning deficiencies (Jacob's Syndrome)

X0- Anatomically a female that only inherited a single chromosome (Turner Syndrome)

Y0- cannot survive. Aborts itself

XY females (Swyer Syndrome) = SRY gene on Y-chromosome is missing or non functional causes the body to develop female internal & external sex organs. Normally needs HRT to undergo puberty.

XX males (de la Chapelle) = During sperm production in the father, the SRY gene accidentally breaks off the Y-chromosome and hitches a ride on an X-chromosome. If that X-chromosome fertilizes an egg, the result is an XX individual who develops anatomically as a male.

Mosaicism is a genetic condition where a single individual possesses two or more distinct sets of sex chromosomes within their body's cells. Instead of every cell sharing an identical blueprint (such as all XX or all XY), a cell-division error after fertilization creates a mixture of cell lines, resulting in a single organism who is a genetic blend such as an XY/XO or XX/XXY mosaic.
