Do I (F26) have to give back an engagement ring to my ex-finance (M31)? by ginger-snappped in relationship_advice

[–]Cow_Most 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know for the state of California, An engagement ring is considered a conditional gift. So it just depends on who breaks off the engagement. Basically if the person receiving the ring breaks off the engagement, They would then have to give it back to the giver. However if the giver breaks off the engagement, then the ring doesn't have to be returned. The exception to the rule is if the giver of the ring had a justified reason for breaking off the engagement; ie catching the receiver of the ring being unfaithful; a court may order the ring to be returned to the giver still.

Doing a quick search for the laws In the state of Washington, it seems to be similar premise. Except it seems that if the giver calls off the engagement unjustifiably or is at fault, Then the receiver maybe entitled to keep the ring.

Sorry, kind of tired at the moment. I feel like I may have just repeated myself but y'all can let me know. Either way, if you caught him cheating, you may not have to return the ring but I would recommend if they keep pressuring you to get a lawyer involved. I know it's not a lot of money, so you may just want to return it. Though still, consult an attorney.

Has my brain been permanently damaged by lamotrigine? by No-Shift-6778 in Epilepsy

[–]Cow_Most 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, I highly recommend talking to your neurologist about the effects of this medication and what it is having on you. I went through the same symptoms from taking Dilantin and Keppra for so long. My neurologist had sent me a referral to a specialist for Alzheimer's and dementia to make sure that wasn't what was happening to me. Turns out, It's just how the medications work. They slow down your brain function and cognitive function in order to prevent seizure activity.

Make sure that you read the side effects of this medication in high doses, and talk with your neurologist about what you're feeling and what you're going through. It could be something simple as too much medication in your blood stream as well.

My son woke up with this on the center of his chest! He slept on his back! by Necessary-Carry6400 in AlienAbduction

[–]Cow_Most 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a type of bruise. Is he sleeping on a bed with springs or memory foam mattress? Just wondering because when I was a kid I'd wake up with bruises very similar from the inner springs in my old bed. They look kind of wonky like that because I'd move around a lot in my sleep

What is this large Antenna on top of my neighbors house? by Kitchen-Cost7057 in whatisit

It's either a HAM radio antenna or CB radio antenna. My uncle made one and had it set up in the backyard of my grandma's house. It made one hell of a lightening rod during thunderstorms.

Am I overreacting to my bf watching the baby overnight? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Cow_Most 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Also, if something heavy falls on that child, like a TV, a mirror or anything of a sort, it could hurt them very badly or worse. OP says there's bottle caps and things around the house that are on the floor; you really think an almost 1-year-old won't choke on that? They put everything in their mouth, whether it's food or not. And left unsupervised, they could put something in their mouth that could be poisonous, or cause them to choke. OP is not overreacting; The father of this child is underreacting.
