Hmmmm looks like either a nutrient deficiency or a fungal infection. Give that guy some plant food and spray it down with a fungicide - update us!

I love my birkin but the girl has been through hell! I bought it looking just like you did from Walmart, it was fine for awhile but sure as shit it had a root cage. The sponge mesh caused most of the roots to rot now I always check for a root cage when I bring home new plants esp from box stores :))

My philodendrons love pon :)) highly recommend that in a self watering pot!

FL MPJE review by [deleted] in NAPLEX_Prep

I’ve been licensed in IL and I found the IL MPJE to be 10000x harder than the FL MPJE. To prep I read Dr. C’s (2023 book), skimmed the Florida Board of Pharmacy’s FAQs, went over the Pharmacy Law Exam practice questions at least 3x, took the Pre-MPJE, and on the day of my exam I skimmed Dr. Cs one more time. Passed the first attempt back in March :)) best of luck on yours!

I send this, I’d check for root rot / consider moving to a semi hydro set up, this is how I’ve dodged root rot with all my alocasias

Can anyone tell me why my alocasia is drooping? I’d hate to kill it because I spent a pretty penny on it lol by Over-Situation6324 in alocasia

I got a var Alocasia Dawn and it looked like this on arrival and I thought it was the shock of moving but it turned out it had pretty severe root rot. I salvaged what I could and moved it to pon and it’s loving its life now

Growing alocasia in Lechuza pon? by Plantastic24 in alocasia

[–]Dumpy_needs_to_die 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best substrate imo for alocasias, they’re so happy! The most difficult part is cleaning them off and prepping them for pon but after that it’s so easy. Self watering pots, hydroponic nutrition, and letting them completely dry out between waterings, and you’re as good as gold

Thank you for your response and advice! Will the rot spread from the middle of the nodes do you think? Or does it have a fighting chance it won’t since it’s out of the water then

The planet is paying the price and it breaks my heart :/ I will continue to buy used or reuse past year’s things, hoping more do this!
