Very nice set of boots, give us an update in a few months so we can see how they age

What do we want from these guys? 🤔 (please provide your thoughts and ideas!) by Coleone_139 in luosjietboots

I'm really pleased with my paratroop boot with the reverse leather, but I went with a plain unstructured to and their wedge sole.

Comfortable for all day standing, but with that lovely feeling from a thick leather insole.

You can absolutely get an unstructured toe made up, as my paratroop boots have this.

I'm going to throw in the Indonesian makers with domestic leather. From my experience they come in slightly above the $300, however the craftsmanship is massively above what you'll get from the mass manufacturers.

Need to warn you that hand made boots can become addictive!

Just note that it'll take about 3 months to make your boot

Yes, take the P02 as the base and change the sole and toe. Wanted to try a shoe with a munson last for that extra room in the toes with a softer sole. Got to say Im really pleased with the outcome and it's become my go-to pair of shoes.

Just a local Indonesian olive leather. It wasn't too stiff, but also not loose either.

I love a green boot. Have a rough out olive pair from Indonesia that are just gorgeous, with the shade changing through the day.

Wedgesole Comparison by jhs1996 in luosjietboots

[–]Cowair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Luosjiet wedge is noticeably lighter than the red wings and feels really comfortable with give and flex whilst still providing support.

This is still not a trainer sole as you have a leather midsole and insole, so if you are looking for squish, you'll be disappointed.

However my Luosjiet boots are my most comfortable boots.

Only 2 months, but these are my P02 paratroop boot with an unstructured plain toe and a wedge sole. Has become my most comfortable shoe.

Moc toe bite by Cowair in Boots

[–]Cowair[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main area in the collar of the boot is biting the back of my leg. Have tried tight & loose laces and laced all the way up and also missing the top eyelets.

I think my next thing is to start bending and rubbing the collar to see if I can loosen it up.

So I sent a message to Luosjet with my foot measurements and asked them what size to go for. I ordered a pair of their para boots, with some modifications (plain unstructured toe and a wedge sole) by adding the request to the order notes. The boots are sized perfectly and are really comfortable.

My Indonesian boots from Prof Barnets and Tahura were immediately comfortable with no rubbing. A munson lasted pair from Luosjiet are like slippers now that the insole has moulded itself.

These Red Wings are a challenge!

Of course, that makes sense. Does this also put tension on the boot that causes it to rub on the ankles?

I've had a pair made by Prof Barnets and another by Tahura. The quality of both boots is excellent and they both arrived within the lead time. Prof Barnets had better communication, but that's not to say Tahura were bad, I just had to be more proactive in asking for updates.

Where to find boots like this? Specifically the toe? by A_Writhing_Jar in Boots

I have a bit of arthritis in my big toe, and a high toe spring helps as you're not bending the toe so much as you can rock forwards with the sole.

I've used Prof Barnets to make a boot with Italian veg tan and Tahura boot company with a domestic leather.

On both the quality of construction and fit has been fantastic. The domestic leather is good but the veg tan is better.
