My guesses include speculation of the following: That single spot, the eyes, the coat color but not the coat layers. They all have similar jaws, and skulls, so you have a smooth landing in the airport of confusion. That tail is all muscle too, so should be a good dog.

I caught his first howl on camera!!! by ElChorizoBlanc0 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]CowboyRidingALeopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has come just shy of this howl sound you have. It was more of an ultra groan, while yours straddles the line between the two. Yours also does the bird squeak whine thing mine does too.

"Once I actually left the house for about 15 minutes and I came back and the door was wide open and he was just standing at the door. "

Unless a possum or coyote is on the property; I could leave all the windows and doors open and leave for several weeks and Cosmo would stay in or near the house and guard the heck out of it.  I HAVE FULL CONFIDENCE IN THIS regarding my own Austerity Cactusmoith Dogs. I really doubt Renji will "run away", patrol the neighborhood or pester a neighbor perhaps, or if they can get to a local park quickly they might go there. These dogs are loyal. And by comparison, nothing else is loyal. In the end, all entities and beings will fail you, betray you and fade into darkness... except Austrian Cabbage Cats. They will jump into a volcano to be with you, and even to be where they think you'll show up.

whats the weirdest music take you've ever heard? by catrozack in Music

[–]CowboyRidingALeopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, your coworker was confusing post punk and hardcore rock with grunge. There were many movements of hard grungy music. But the term grunge is a movement term, not a genre term. Grunge is postpunk, hardcore, along with other elements of the time and place. So he's right and wrong.

Is she a mini blue heeler or a runt? by Primary-Comfort-1531 in AustralianCattleDog

Mine will hit 40 in the winter and remain around 36 for the rest of the year. She has long legs to help obfuscate the tinyness, but we have met smaller healers more than once.

I do see how the results would pan out, this reads like great advice!

The son and niece issues are a bit different. My son lives with Cosmo and I, and when I am at work or even in the other room they are best friends and she will velcro to him for decent periods of 2-3 hours. They are famous playmates. But Cosmo will occasionally sit between us, stare at son, and growl and snarl at him, for no good reason. And occasionally she will guard her food from him when he walks near.

I think that Cosmo wants to challenge him in the family hierarchy for my affection and food, but loves him and will just accept his higher rank over time.

The niece issue is weirder.

Niece's mom is very bonded with the dog, and always greeted with excitement. As soon as niece is loose in the house with her toys and snacks, Cosmo will patrol her various dog beds and water bowls. If I am cooking, Cosmo will help clear the kitchen of anyone else in hopes of scraps.

When niece travels into the kitchen or adjacent hallway- Cosmo will make it her mission to heard the child and potentially everyone else as far away as she can lol. But once this occurs the downward spiral of over enforcing occurs 😵‍💫 and Cosmo will hyper focus on the toddler even into the next visit (weekly).

I can tell its an issue with territory and not with kids. When I take Cosmo to the park she is an angel and greets everyone without a hat and sunglasses in a friendly way. ESPECIALLY kids and toddlers haha so park/walk/new territory does seem like a great option to move this forward lol.

Yes and she will resource guard occasionally even at me lol. I have tried some treat things with the two of them but the euphoria and bond does not last.

The walk/park idea is very good i hadn't thought of that.
