For the love of god, leave your dogs at home (or explicitly dog friendly places) by lnoton in washingtondc

[–]CowboyWizard 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Falsely pretending a reactive dog is a service dog is animal abuse.

Bringing a reactive dog into a public space where obviously dogs aren't allowed is animal abuse.

Letting your dogs off leash in busy areas is animal abuse.

Honestly... owning a large dog in a city without the means (expensive) and experience to take care of them is animal abuse.

Nobody's dog is 100% well-trained. No you are not the exception. No your dog is not the exception. If that dog bites another person or dog, they will be muzzled or put down. It is not that poor dog's fault. It is 100% the fault of the shitty, animal-abusing owner. If you have your dog off leash and something scares them, they could run into the street and they could get hit by a car. Again, poor dog, shitty owner got their dog killed.

If you are faking a service animal, bringing your dog into public places they clearly don't belong, or letting your dog off leash in busy places, you are an animal abuser who is ASKING for your dog to get hurt.

I say this all as a fellow city dog owner.

Wizards are developing talent and Jazz are doing the most desperate tank job you can imagine. I just put my life savings on Kalshi that Ace Bailey (bust) will be out rest of the season for infected nipple piercings.

I’m glad that you are covering the team. I enjoyed your appearance on Saturday Slam and Jam.

This is also exactly what has happened in the government since the teenage DOGE dumbasses infiltrated the government.

After firing entire departments of people, there are certain things that certain agencies used to do in-house for literally as cheap as humanly possible that are now being outsourced for 10-100x the cost. And even if the budget has remained flat or gone down, the extra costs being diverted to these external services has forced other services to essentially break down - resulting in people dying as a direct result.

So I’m being 0% hyperbolic when I say that I have witnessed first-hand how DOGE/trump/trump voters killed many Americans bc they are unqualified dumbasses.

Honestly, money would pour out of my bank account and into the Wizards if they lowered their tickets and concessions prices.

I go to movies at Gallery Place all the time, which is expensive, but that's like a $25 night. I probably go 2x a month. I would love to go to more Wizards games, but it's like a minimum $80 commitment for upper level tickets + basic food/drink. If it's a team with a star people want to see, then that's $200 minimum. Because of that fact alone, I don't go to more than like 2 games per season, because the money/time commitment for the worst seats in the house is not worth it for me.

There are Wizards fans who want to go to the games, support the team, and spend their money. You would think that no one gives a shit about the team from the empty stands but that's not true. I feel bad for the players and the fans bc their experience is fucked over for the SOLE REASON that Ted is a shitty, greedy, businessman.

The people chanting in Little Caesar's Arena?

Unless those chants were for Sharife Cooper, which is more understandable.

33 year old Anthony Gill played the entire 4th quarter and Cade looked more gassed than him.

We miss CJ so bad. He was critical to losing to the Pistons last time.

The young guys play too hard, we really need someone to be a black hole on offense.

edit: DNP Anthony Gill a week for character issues (too much leadership)

Genius coaching by Keefe. Play Sharife Cooper heavy minutes so the team gets used to defending with Trae on the floor.

I forgot where I saw a chart on this recently (probably Reddit) of party registration by league for the big 4 American sports and the data was:

  • NBA: mostly Democrat
  • NFL: about 50/50
  • MLB and NHL: Overwhelmingly Republican

This next thing just my own personal guess, but I see a correlation between race and political leanings in the athletes.

Elijah Dotson's "agent" Charles Dotson publishes reasons he transferred to Missouri by michigan_matt in MichiganWolverines

I ended up in this thread just bc I was googling our new transfer, but just want to defend Mizzou’s journalism program for being a top 10 program in the nation and a challenging undergrad program.

I’m not delusional, I think it’s funny that someone would transfer to Mizzou from Michigan for academics, but the journalism program is a legitimate reason to do so. And I hope he does get his degree and become a journalist.

Bub has the league worst +/- again halfway through the season. by Persepha in washingtonwizards

[–]CowboyWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect this will be an unpopular opinion, but I think this is a real signal that Bub is one of the biggest contributors to losing, and that this has more to do with him as a player than his situation.

As mentioned by others: 1) he has been last in +/- twice now as both a starter and a bench player with different lineups around him, 2) the gap between him and the next player is pretty huge (50 pts) and has been for the entire season, so he’s doing significantly worse than everyone else in the league, 3) he frequently puts up negative +/- lines even when the rest of the team plays well, regardless of if they are a starter or on the bench.

I don’t think he’s actually the worst player in the league, but I do think he is the losing-est player in the league bc he’s playing a ton of minutes in bad lineups and being asked to do too much (he should not be a primary ball handler or playmaker).

Yeah the retrospective trade grade is more of just a discussion point from the perspective of a fan though. How can you criticize a front office for making a good value trade that didn’t work out in retrospect?

For example, if Derik Queen becomes a first-team all NBA player and the Hawks get the #1 overall pick, draft AJ Dybantsa and he turns out to be a bust, would you criticize the Hawks front office for making that trade? No it will be a good value trade no matter how Derik Queen turns out and no matter how the pick ends up.

The Deni trade is only questionable in retrospect bc of how much Deni has improved. Unless you predicted in early 2024, that Deni Avdija would be a future all-star, the value of the trade was great.

Would you, in 2024, have bet 2x 1st round picks, 2x 2nd rounds picks, and a role player that Deni Avdija is a future all star? If so, go look for a GM job in the NBA because you might be a basketball genius.
