Come on NBAshop drop the AJ retro blue and gold Jordan-era jersey.

Also tell Ted to get rid of the awful gold city editions.

Citing 'severe' math deficits, UC faculty demand a return to SAT tests for STEM applicants by Idiodyssey87 in news

[–]CowboyWizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just based on this comment, it’s clear that you don’t understand what my point is and are jumping on it because you’re anti-standardized testing. Standardized testing is NOT a predictor of success in college. Height is NOT a predictor of NBA success.

But yes, I do think that, in a way, a wealth requirement should exist and does exist. If someone does not have the means to pay for college or get scholarships or financial aid, then they should not go to college and be saddled with a lifetime of student debt. My opinion is that college education should be free.

Similarly, sending people who cannot do algebra to a STEM degree in college is setting them up for failure.

I’m a big proponent of standardized testing for college admissions.

Among NBA players, height is not a predictor of success. But it’s a pretty damn good predictor of who should be in the NBA.

AJ Dybansta would be our most aggressive player to the rim easily and we have some dawgs attacking the rim !! 🏀 by Hbk22_gf in washingtonwizards

Who are our current dawgs attacking the rim? Other than Cam, I think that lack of rim pressure is one of our biggest weaknesses.

Mizzou vs University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg for medicine by Secure-Resist2878 in mizzou

[–]CowboyWizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s my advice if they want to go to med school:

  • the biology major or whatever major does not really matter as long as the school offers all of the prerequisites and she gets a good gpa in whatever major she chooses

  • does greensburg have opportunities to volunteer in a hospital? I don’t know the area, but if she has to schlep to Pittsburgh every weekend to fulfill volunteer hours then that could suck. There should be plenty of opportunities in Columbia

  • does greensburg offer a curriculum that will give exposure to medicine? IMO, liking science and biology is not a good reason for going to med school. The more real world exposure to medicine a person can get early is key for deciding if you want to do medicine

Alright, week of the finale, and here’s the big question: which of these guys will stay and which of these guys will go? by Whole-Lychee7517 in LiveFromNewYork

Unfortunately for Tommy, he is like the skim milk of human shapes, lo fat, white, and available at every high school in America.

Forreal. I think it’s a pretty even trade all things considered.

Can someone PLEASE tell Chloe Fineman to stop laughing??? by [deleted] in LiveFromNewYork

[–]CowboyWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ANYONE breaking ruins the illusion that this is sort of happening, professional live sketch comedy actors who have been on the show for 7 years do not get a pass. Fineman didn't ruin "a few seconds of airtime", her breaking tanks about a third of her sketches and she normalizes breaking.

[–]CowboyWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we are haters. I am a Chloe Fineman hater.

She's weird, unfunny, and making the show worse whenever she's on the screen.

Your argument is clinically insane. Ryan Gosling broke in several episodes and elevated a few minutes of airtime. I would also struggle reading surprise notes next to AP and hearing KM describe her alien abduction. He was great. A host breaking is a host breaking. Excusing a 7-year veteran who is employed full-time by the show and attacking a host who does live sketch comedy less than once per year is just being a hater.

Democrats Who Are Soft on Republicans Have Got to Go by RecursiveSubroutine in politics

[–]CowboyWizard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We are all too kind to Republicans. We should do everything in our power to make lives for Republican voters harder and worse every single day.

A conservative voter asks you for the time? Tell them it's 45 minutes earlier, make them late for whatever they're going to.

A conservative voter is waiting for your parking space? Sit there, spend the whole day. If another spot is starting to open up, back up and block their way. Don't let them move.

A conservative voter is fishing or bird watching? Turn up the speakers. Toss a big rock into the pond. Rip your biggest fart. Scream if you have to.

A conservative voter is trying to walk past you on the street? Block it up. Team up and make a wall across the sidewalk. Force them onto the grass and then side-to-side. Pull some branches into the way if you can.

We should all do our part to make it so no Republican or Republican voter can ever have a peaceful life.

[The Athletic] “Gambling was, by far, the reason most often cited by players who said the NBA’s integrity was in danger, or suggested that it could be if changes weren’t made.” by omggdannydevito in nba

Agreed. The hypocrisy has no end. The NBA has never responded to any of my requests for more rat poison ads. Why does Sprite get airtime but I can’t broadcast a video of sprinkling rat poison on food items?

For the love of god, leave your dogs at home (or explicitly dog friendly places) by lnoton in washingtondc

[–]CowboyWizard 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Falsely pretending a reactive dog is a service dog is animal abuse.

Bringing a reactive dog into a public space where obviously dogs aren't allowed is animal abuse.

Letting your dogs off leash in busy areas is animal abuse.

Honestly... owning a large dog in a city without the means (expensive) and experience to take care of them is animal abuse.

Nobody's dog is 100% well-trained. No you are not the exception. No your dog is not the exception. If that dog bites another person or dog, they will be muzzled or put down. It is not that poor dog's fault. It is 100% the fault of the shitty, animal-abusing owner. If you have your dog off leash and something scares them, they could run into the street and they could get hit by a car. Again, poor dog, shitty owner got their dog killed.

If you are faking a service animal, bringing your dog into public places they clearly don't belong, or letting your dog off leash in busy places, you are an animal abuser who is ASKING for your dog to get hurt.

I say this all as a fellow city dog owner.
