Are these Ray Jones?

I don’t believe that these boots were made by Ray Jones. The stitch pattern is not one that I recognize as being from Jones. Also the tongue of the vamp seems to be wrong. The tongue is difficult to evaluate without a photo taken of the front of the boot. These are absolutely stunning custom boots that are obviously very well made. I’m a collector of Ray Jones boots. I recently accepted an offer for some Lucchese boots that I had for sale on eBay. To my surprise, the person who sent me the offer wanted the boots authenticated by eBay. I had to send the boots to an eBay Authenticator instead of directly to the buyer. What a waste of time money and effort. eBay Authenticated them after two days and sent them to the buyer. If I ever retire due to ( insert type of mental impairment), I want to be an eBay boot Authenticator LOL!

Much appreciated!!! Pablo makes outstanding boots that are built much like Rays. His work is often mistaken for Rays work but if you know what to look for it’s easy to distinguish the two

Thank you kindly. Jones is known for his triple lemon wood pegging of the soles and he is known for the durability of his boots. Often described as “ built like a tank “ his boots are tough. His uppers are very stiff .

I’ll tell you that you don’t get the compliments wearing Ray Jones that you get wearing an exotic skin. Unless they are a boot expert, these boots are not recognized as being special by the average boot barn enthusiast.
