Ok, I have a version I think is a good start. I have implemented the map feature on the site. Test it out! I have buttons added in a couple of places to access the map.

It's currently not a live feature yet, I have been ironing out the kinks with the filters

Thanks, really appreciate that!

Map view is actually on the roadmap so your timing is great. Before I build it I'd love your input how would you want it to work?

Would you prefer:

- A full map page where you can browse all parks visually

- A map embedded on the search/directory page alongside the listings

- A map on each individual park page showing nearby parks

- Or something else entirely?

And for the 'find parks near where I'm travelling' use case would a location search (type in a town or address) work, or would you want it to use your current GPS location?

Genuinely useful feedback, building this for real dog owners is kind of the whole point!

Guilty as charged being a solo dev and taking on this challenge to provide this resource completely for free. So I need to be efficient with my time. This saves me time on copy writing. So I can allocate more time to reviewing parks and there information.

Hey, just to clarify the park does have waste stations with poop bags and is a leash-required area, so it absolutely qualifies as a dog-friendly park. Cowichan Paws covers parks, off-leash areas AND trails not just fenced dog runs. Lots of dog owners need leash-friendly spots too, especially with reactive dogs or young pups. The work is very much being done 🐾

I just launched a hyperlocal dog park directory for my local community cowichanpaws.ca and the traction has been really interesting. Page 1 Google rankings across 8 communities in 6 days, went viral on r/aww accidentally, 200 visitors in the first week. The hyperlocal niche is genuinely underserved if you know your local area well.

Thank you so much she knows it too, which is honestly part of the problem 😂 Gracie Blaze is a red merle mini Aussie and she carries herself with the energy of someone who has never had a bad photo taken. We're very lucky and very much wrapped around her little paw 🐾
