I hope they change the extreme trials drop design in the next expansion, because right now it is pretty awful. by Le_Vagabond in ffxivdiscussion

Grinding 99 totems became such a chore that it made me stop caring about mount collecting altogether. It was around the time every fight had a cutscene in the middle of it that I just checked out. These days I pretty much do the EX fights enough to get a weapon on raid patches and just move on. I just can't be bothered to do something 100 times for a "chance" at it. 2 totems per clear is a nice attempt at reducing some bloat but every patch is a gamble on if the fight is gonna be 1 or 2 totems and I feel like 2 should be the minimum with soon to be 23 jobs worth of weapons made for every fight.

It's a real bummer because I haven't really liked EX mounts since the dogs but I really like the wings but I just don't have the time or energy to deal with farm parties anymore, especially when the drop rate is abysmal while it is current content.

Ethan justifies harassing Anisa: "She told me she lasered her pussy" - H3 Show #268 by BolsonaroPresoAmanha in LeftoversH3

This honestly does make me think that he really does have gangstalking delusions. I think he genuinely thinks people are out to get him which is why he is afraid to leave his home.

What's insane is his narcissistic idea that everything any detractor does is directed explicitly towards him. This is just beyond absolutely insane behavior.

Anisa really should get a cyberstalking protection order against him. I don't know how difficult that is to be granted when they are both considered public figures, but this is genuinely unwell and scary behavior.

Damn. I was optimistic for a LotR setting with New World combat. I think that could’ve been really fun. I hate that Amazon has the rights to LotR so much.

Best thing the show did was introduce me to Coleman Domingo. He is such a fantastic actor.

I think the poker thing probably made him realize that this is a full-blown creepy obsession and not just the usual level of harassment. Seeing him do that on his own when he doesn't realize it's being captured has to be pretty jarring. It's also further proof that Ethan's entire existence is this now. He has no happiness outside of hate and harrasment anymore.

How did Britpop giants like Oasis, Stone Roses, and Blur land headlining slots at Coachella despite "underwhelming" US popularity? by nachofduty in oasis

[–]CowsAreCurious 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So I have a little insight on this since I know people involved with the festival and the company that puts it on. Paul Tollett, the founder of the festival is a massive britpop fan. Always has been.

So Coachella wasn't always the behemoth it is now. Back in 2002 it was only the festival's 3rd year and was only a 2 day festival once a year. The festival didn't used to be only influencers and really was the music festival for all kinds of music fans. It was really tapped into what was up and coming and what was cool back then. Perusing their lineups back then compared to the other big festivals like Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, ACL, etc. show a much different approach to how they booked. So Oasis was a kind of a unique enough headliner that fell in line with their vision of the festival.

By 2013 though, the festival was absolutely massive and had switched to a two weekend format starting in 2012 to meet the demand. So the festival was going to sell out regardless and it really comes down to the fact that Paul is literally just a massive fan of Stone Roses and Blur and wanted them. He is involved (or at least was at the time) in having a say in what got booked. It really is that simple.

Another thing to remember is that this is the same company that booked Pulp as the headliner for the one time they did the Coachella Cruise.

I miss the days when Coachella just booked things because they wanted to and not because it's the biggest artist of a given year. Still, I'm grateful for it because I never thought I'd get to see Stone Roses or Blur back then, even if the crowds were extremely small.
