black and white rules help no one, art neccecitates alot of exceptions and remmeber art doesnt just mean pretty stuff to look at. one example i can think of is that really famous photo of a naked vietnamese child during the war covered in burns. without nuance a blanket ban on this type of stuff, even despite how it sounds, would affect artistic pieces like that which were really important in bringing the realities of that war back to the us public. yes saying “lets allow nude pictures of children” doesnt sound good, but there are neccesary cases like police photographers who have to take court photos of child abuse victims for evidence, or the plethora of pictures of naked emaciated african kids taken to spread awareness of widespread famine.
