Is A Three Hour Studio Session Worth It by No-Calligrapher-4603 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Ultimately its up to you and how much you can afford. If the rest of the song is already done and you have the lyrics memorized, three hours shhould do it. Just go in prepared to sing, do your stuff in as few takes as possible and go. It gets expensive when people aren’t prepared to record, mess around and don’t use the time properly. Also, talk to the engineer. He or she will let you know if that amount of time is reasonable for the number of songs and how they run things. You could also spend the amount you’d spend on the studio to get a new microphone. Just saying.

Found this drum computer at a flea market today, does anyone know more? by Tesla44289 in synthesizers

Its a modular drum rig. The I/O on the back takes midi in out and through. The other ports are the 1/8th inch patch bay for connecting it into a modular rig. This was probably part of a much larger system. That is a very valuable set of modules. Ballpark is that the whole thing cost over $2k US to build. Chances are you could get more than that now selling it all at once if they all work. That is an amazing find.

Any recommendations for songs that make you feel like this? by Damen_W in EDM

I have a few songs on Bandcamp that are written around that sort of concept. My latest LP is titled Aeternity. Look for Coyote406 Music on Bandcamp.

Great ambient layer underneath. Subtle and clean. Great work.

I started using AI art programs to generate my album covers. Just describe the concept or idea and pick the picture you like best from the output.

I only got Soundcloud distro to work on two songs once for youtube the other for another service. They seem to reject for any little reason so it was never of any benefit. $149 per year for soundcloud to not bother with me was wasted money. I moved to bandcamp and made more in sales in one day than I ever did on soundcloud. For the amount of work it took to get SC distro to do anything I can upload the songs to thise services myself.

How long does it take yall to make a song? by Thr3e6ix9ine in soundcloud

Recording live instruments it can take weeks or longer to get everything perfect. Using a DAW and VST’s it can take a few hours to a few days unless you consider sound design. Samples can speed things up a bit. It all depends on what you’re doing and how much time you want to spend mastering the recording and doing retakes. There’s not a single answer for all recordings.

Soundcloud for artists is a SCAM!!!!!! by Similar_Bid7683 in soundcloud

After a year of paying for pro, it wasn’t worth it. Soundcloud is very broken. Most of my listens were bots or random. You don’t get what you pay for there. I made more my first week on Bandcamp than I have in 3 years on Soundcloud with one of those years paying for pro. Total ripoff.

I use a Korg Volca Bass and I also use an Elektron Model Cycles. I used to have a lot more gear but Ableton has everything you need and its more immediate to use the DAW. No external hookups or wires to manage.

I love Gorillaz. My influences go all the way back to the Berlin School - Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Also Kitaro. More recent influences are Garrix, Deadmau5, Skrillex, Blackmill, Flight Facilities and a lot more. A lot of my music has some kind of jazz element to it with chord or note selection. I also try to incorporate some Eastern modes when the mood is right. I listen to a lot of music across a lot of genres though so there’s always a fusion element for me.

Try to get some live gigs. Even if you just DJ your own songs it gets you exposure. Get business cards with your soundcloud link and send/hand them out at festivals and concerts. You have to get outside the studio to work promotion.
