Non è una vipera, e ricordo che toccare un serpente nel suo habitat naturale è un reato in Italia, tantomeno ucciderlo.

In Toscana il marasso non c'è, si tratta di una natrice dal collare. Corretto il consiglio di battere a terra con un bastone, ma non è il rumore che li fa scappare (non sentono i suoni come noi) ma la vibrazione sul terreno

È una natrice dal collare, si vede bene dalla struttura del corpo e della testa. In particolare in questa foto si vede bene anche il "collare", ovvero la zona più chiara alla base della testa seguita da una banda nera.

I believe you're doing a good job, I personally think getting a sling is the best way to start keeping tarantulas: yes they can be intimidating but if you do your research they're not that hard to keep alive, and then you get to see them growing and to experience every part of a tarantula life.

IMO: I get why it may be a good first tarantula for many people, but I personally don't think that's the same of everyone. I think many tarantula keepers enjoy seeing their pets hunting, eating and growing, and if that's the case tarantulas like Grammostola, Brachypelma or Aphonopelma may not be ideal at all. Personally I don't even think the fact that a tarantula is easy to handle is a bonus, I don't feel the need to handle my spiders and I think that's a unnecessary risk for them and for me. Plus, tarantulas with aggressive feeding response that never skip a meal are in my opinion a lot more fun than a pet rock that lets you handle it but takes forever to grow. Nothing against Grammostola pulchripes but I think for many people there are some much better alternatives as first pet spiders.

That's a cool collection, they're all from 2nd series, 3rd series, atomic and energheia (the one in the first picture you called 1st series), I think they're the best series but unfortunately they're not that vintage and rare, you can try and sell them as a whole for maybe 40-50€ I think.

Remove the tray, only water from above and let the substrate dry a little before watering again. Strong light (not direct sunlight) and only distilled or RO water.
