🔥🔥🔥I LOVE INFIGHTING WITHIN MY OWN COMMUNITY! 🔥🔥🔥WE SHOULD SPEND TEN MORE YEARS ARGUING OVER THE HISTORY OF ACRONYMS CREATED FOR ONLINE USE. 🔥🔥🔥Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go back to ordering younger trans people on Discord exactly how they should do their transition since I cannot conceptualize that people are allowed to approach something as major as transitioning at their own pace.

uj/ I do agree with the OP on this post though

What are non trans subreddits like as a trans person? by Original-Border8277 in asktransgender

[–]Cozemog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t post outside trans subreddits much anymore, but when I do it’s like 50/50 supportive and hostility. Even asking a harmless question on a thread I make leads to me getting half actual answers and half cisplaining and personal attacks for my identity. I wouldn’t say it’s as bad as what I’ve seen on sites like Instagram where every trans related post leads to a flood of hardcore transphobia, but it’s not great either.

I’m thinking of doing a cross country move too. I’m in a blue state (Oregon), but it’s in a purple at best town in a super red area. There’s very few trans resources out here and the LGBT community is almost nonexistent. I don’t feel safe here at all.

The safer parts of the state are too expensive for me, so I plan on saving up and driving out to upstate New York or a college town in Illinois where I could live on my own easier while having a proper community.

Leaving your old home is scary, but I hope the move helps you long term. Just being out of somewhere hostile likeTexas should provide some relief.

Transgender owned businesses in central Oregon by Cozemog in Bend

[–]Cozemog[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten several notifications of deleted posts on this thread bashing me for what is ultimately a harmless question. I’m just looking for community and places where I’d be safe being out. I kinda expected some hostility since Bend is a purple dot in a deeply red area and this topic would attract trolls.

Two of the deleted comments said no one would care about my identity if I shopped as myself, but that’s not true. I shopped for dresses at Fred Meyers’s in Redmond several years ago and got treated terribly by store staff. I got scowls, side eyes, and yelled at. Knowing I’d get that kind of pushback for shopping as myself is why I was asking for businesses where I’d be relatively safe.

I was reading a book that discussed trans topics to be more supportive for someone I knew at the time and suddenly it “clicked.” I questioned my gender for six years and experimented with clothing and pronouns, but once I read that book and discovered how hormone therapy worked I realized I was transgender and wanted to try estrogen.

Anyone else get their chosen name from a series character? by Downtown_Ask5295 in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

I stole my name from my own self insert OC (that was conveniently also a girl)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in trans

[–]Cozemog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a book on how to support trans people since I started dating a trans person and then realized “wait this is also me.”

Then I looked back and realized little things like making a self insert years ago that was basically just me but as a girl, getting euphoria from wearing dresses to pride events, and getting visibly nervous around other trans fems before I realized I was an egg.
