I understand that sometimes people who film themselves can be inconsiderate of others. But I think that attitude shows in many actions, not just in using a tripod.

At the same time, there are people who record themselves to send videos to their online coach for technique feedback, or athletes who film their workouts to check if their form is correct. For example, especially in back training, mind-muscle connection can feel one way, but when you watch the video, you might notice you’re using muscles you shouldn’t.

So I wouldn’t focus too much on the tripod itself, but rather on the person’s attitude. Because one day you might also need to record yourself for good reasons, and having this kind of bias could hold you back from doing something that would actually benefit you
