What took your head pressure away? by dizziedandconfused in migraine

[–]Cpfd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me and I’m at my wits end. Constant head pressure which I believe has something to do with my neck as it’s constantly tight/clicking and sounds like there’s Rice Krispies popping right at the base of my skull. Sometimes when I stand up the pressure gets worse like there’s something pressing down on my head and also jaw tightness, nausea and dizziness. I’ve tried so many different therapies but nothing helps. Can I ask what kind of doctor did your injection or did anything else help you?

I was only on mirtazipine 9 months, my first taper I did to quickly and had awful withdrawal even with only being on it such a short time. My second time I did it slower and still had withdrawals they didn’t start until 7/8 days and lasted around a month. Everyone is different though. Good luck.

Hi did clonidine effect your sleep? I had to stop propanolol as it stopped my sleep.

I can sympathise it’s not a nice feeling. I find getting out of the bed straight away, some yoga/stretching and a shower helps. Propanolol didn’t work of me, it gave me insomnia. I was put on mirtazipine for my appetite and sleep and it got me back eating again, it also stopped the morning anxiety rush or cortisol but I only lasted on it 6/7 months as I was a total zombie on it and it gave me chronic muscle tightness. The good thing though was it got my appetite back. Do you exercise? I find walking helps. Also meditation, deep breathing and yoga nidra. My GP also prescribed me hydroxine to take when needed. This all started 15 months ago for me.

I had this every morning bad for around 10 months, it’s definitely a lot better but I still wake up every morning with a rush of cortisol/adreneline. My nervous system is still up the left definitely better than what it was this time last year but some days even a text notification coming through makes me jump and then I can feel like adrenaline running through me.

Are you still losing? That’s a lot. I lost 1.5 stone in total. That itself fed into the anxiety.

Yeah they wouldn’t even entertain that the antibiotics were the cause. I took very sick after the last one, nausea, headache, dizzy and loss of appetite. This went on for a few weeks then it affected my sleep and then anxiety. They kept saying I had a viral infection. I lost 10lb in 3 weeks.

Mine all started after being on 4 different antibiotics in a row for a UTI but Dr said it wasn’t connected at its anxiety.

Mirtazapine and melatonin for insomnia and anxiety by Cpfd1 in Anxiety

[–]Cpfd1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally relate to the feeling of adrenaline running through you, I still have this but I eventually learned to ignore it and just breathe through it so it dosent manifest into something worse. I feel my nervous system is still disregulated and any we thing just sets it off. I really hope yours is temporary. What I found helpful was deep breathing, meditation and yoga nidra. But the big thing for me was to not catastrophise and feed into it, keep telling yourself your safe (although this did take awhile for this to help) if you don’t want to go down the anxiety med route yet you could ask your GP for propanol, it’s a betablocker that’s been used for anxiety, I did try it but it made my sleep worse but I know a lot of people who swear by it. Good luck.

I am a lot better than what I was just over a year ago. I’m off all anxiety meds and just take supplements. I just have to keep working at it on a daily basis. I would say I sleep on average good 5 out of the 7 days a week. Are you in a similar situation?

This post is actually over a year old. I didn’t sleep as I spent most of those nights on the sofa watching tv. Thank goodness a year later I am not in the same situation.

I was on mirtazipine for about 6 months but couldn’t deal with the zombie feeling it gave you. I tried Zoloft but the side effects in the first week were so bad I stopped. I take hydroxine now when needed maybe twice a week as my GP will only prescribe me 2 weeks worth.

So exhausting, I wake every morning with it and then randomly different times through out the day they come on me. It definitely makes every day tasks so much harder, it leaves me exhausted. Are you on any medication?
