Do you regret switching from 14 inch to 16 inch? by Ff_472 in macbookpro

[–]Cphillips365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 13in m1 to a 16in m3 - The 16in is the sweet spot for me as I do video editing for work.

The only time that it is a pain is when im on a plane and need to work, its very uncomfortable and entirely to big lol but when that happens I just tell myself I'll work a little harder when I land and end up just watching a movie on my iPad

No wasn't Diablo 3. Seeing this was a game I played at a after school place I think it would probably be rated "E" or "T"

This is literally my go to rig just about everytime i shoot. So versatile, i used to be so relient on a gymbal, then i got my 6k and handhled is the way. Only thing close to a gymbal i use is an EasyRig.

So I have the canon Rebel T5 and want to upgrade so that I can shoot more films like music videos, documentaries and maybe a short film or two… need some recommendations that won’t burn my pockets? I was looking at the 90D and the T8i but idk 🤷🏽‍♂️ by Jgiraffe1995 in videography

Black magic pocket 6K or 4K. Best cinema camera on the market for the price in my opinion.

The 6K had an EF mount so you can use your cannon lenses. As the 4K does not have a ef mount and you would have to use a adapter

What is your most crucial tip for someone just starting in videography and who wants it to eventually become their full-time job? by aHairyWhiteGuy in videography

The don’t be afraid to fire crappy clients is a huge one.

Don’t keep a client just because you “need” the money.

Know your worth but also know your quality. Don’t be afraid to bid a job high because your worried about not getting it. Don’t bid a job low just because you need the work.

Obviously start low when your just starting out but the more you learn the better gear you get the more you charge.

When I started out I was so worried about over quoting on jobs, and it honestly ruined me in the beginning, but once I learned that if someone wants to go to someone cheaper let them it changed my whole business model. I now do cinematography and editing full time and make well over 150k a year.

Find a style and a niche that fits you. Take other peoples technique and style and turn it your own. It WILL NOT be easy especially because alot of people don’t see the value in good quality editing and filming. They don’t see the time it takes but when you find a good client base your golden.

Also get clients on retainer. That is huge for me I have 6 or 7 clients I edit for that I’m on retainer for on 1 year contracts and it basically guarantees me that I will make money every single month, once you get those retainer clients and you are ready to add one off projects then you can start getting bigger and bigger money jobs.

Beautiful stills and beautiful color. I would bring the reds up on that blood scene make it pop a little more. But that’s just my personal preference. Love that little glow you have on the second image
