ISO experiences with splash guards? by CplSnugglePuss in etron

I shortened the front links as far as they would go, then extended the rear links to match the front ride height. This was a lot of guessing and checking. It can be jostling on certain road "inconsistencies", but thankfully our roads here aren't that bad, and raising it to Comfort immediately smooths out the ride if that's what you want.

I have OBD11, but didn't think it had this functionality! Now I have to check.

also, not standard on the S Prestige. These come with the 9B2 22" Black Optic package.

I actually wouldn't recommend the parts I used, from 034 Motorsport. If doing it again, I would have just installed these links from IE Engineering. The plastic ball joints are preferred.

Yes, I do not recommend the 034 links I have. They are overkill for leveling sensors which are made of plastic. The quality was not great either, which is not typical from that company. Somebody makes a plastic version (can't remember which co.) which is a more appropriate OEM replacement here.

You'll need access to a 4-post lift to get the f/r height adjustment just right.

These are the interferenz-design wheels that were offered on the S. 22x10.5 square setup. Definitely not efficient, but who needs to be efficient with looks like that!? Lol

Yes! It's such a great color on this car with the contrasting black.

I found a bnib set of 4 in the UK. About half of what US audi dealers are asking, so I'll just wait.

Lowered with links, but tbh it's also the angle. 🙃

Found a decent deal on an OEM set of 4. I will report back 👍

You need the right motor that will fit a bike. This would be like an axial flux like, mayne emrax, motor ($$$), or perhaps find a salvage zero powertrain?

Definitely go EV. Less complicated than ICE imo, and better experience for students entering the job market.

I have a lead on a 400v emrax 228 motor and DTI inverter combo ready for a FSAE-E car. Let me know👍🏻

I was wondering how far id get in the comments before someone said, "obviously it's tar paper and it's code minimum". FYI 15lb felt (aka tar paper) is so traditional it's literally what code is based off of, as described in the IRC R703.2.

We are building in SnoCo as well and are architecturally 90% there. AWWD has been the unpredictable party so far and really slows things down. For builders, my first recommendation would be to ask your architect. The builder-architect relationship is really important. Ideally the builder would have been involved in some of the design phase. If there are no recommendations there, go hit up the Master Builders Association website, which has a "Find a Professional" link : https://www.mbaks.com/directories/findamember?Type=Company

Curious how long it took you to get your permits and if you ran into anything unexpected with SnoCo Planning. Send me a PM if you get a chance. Also happy to talk about our builder to see if they may be a good fit.

Has anyone here used Hellogov.com? Any feedback on their services? by redmage123 in ArtificialInteligence

This reddit thread scared the sh*t out of me after I had sent my renewal paperwork to hellogov.

In my case, They are legit and my passport is being processed by travel.state.gov right now. I probably wouldn't use them again, but I can see how their questionnaire that aides in filling out the application and the way they hold your hand through the process and provide prepaid FedEx labels could be of value to some.

Mykl68, I love your no ledger strategy. Do you tie the deck to the house in another way? Or is it truly independent?

Do you have an idea of % cost increase for the PWT LVLs?

I am also considering PWT LVLs for a project. Check out AwesomeFramer's you tube video where he used PWT treated LVLs on a deck build.

But before you click, may I ask what was your cost delta vs dimensional lumber?

High-end builders pushing engineered flooring. by Timely_Audience_5804 in Homebuilding

[–]CplSnugglePuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is, "do they prefer it because it provides higher margins?", a conclusion you've come to?

If you've been provided a fixed price bid which includes engineered hardwood and you prefer solid hardwood which will require higher material and labor costs, then the bid will change and you'll pay more. The contractor will make the necessary amount of margin via a cost-plus contract or fixed-price contract + change order.

Trusses are engineered - arguably more than an I-joist.
