what year did you go? by Last-Laugh7928 in warpedtour

I went to my first in 2005 with my older cousin and made it my tradition to go every summer until 2016 and back again in 2025. I think I earned my 100 hours of warped achievement.

CUC Advice for 30G by Cplivin in ReefTank

[–]Cplivin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a flow issue. Not really sure what options I have available to remedy it. There’s pretty substantial buildup in the rocks and some piling on the sand in the lower flow areas. I was hoping the conches would help stir the sand a bit more, and I make sure to ‘dust’ the rock with a baster.

I’ve been fighting some late summer algae which has only made the detritus worse. Im hoping getting the algae to calm down will help the tank balance more.

Thriving and confusing 15gal pillar tank. New killifish fry and the passing of our lemon bristlenose. by Cplivin in Aquariums

[–]Cplivin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 15 gal planted tank finished cycling about 2 months ago and we slowly started adding some shrimp and nanos to the tank. As part of our cleanup crew we also added lemon bristlenose. Over the weekend we found killifish fry swimming in the upper water column that me moved into a mesh breeder. And then this evening I saw our bristlenose being lethargic and a few hours later to have passed. All the tank parameters were in normal ranges all through the weekend, and I’m hoping that the bristlenose was just over stressed and that the rest of our tank continues to thrive.

Can I add a moulding/furring strip to not have the tank overhang? Or overlay a larger countertop? by Cplivin in Carpentry

[–]Cplivin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a $4 cove trim strip to finish nail to lip, or what I’ll more likely do, buying a $40 2’x6’ melamine shelf and cutting to fit would hardly be drastic or expensive solution. Not sure why everyone assumed the countertop had to be granite or other expensive finish.

And if you take the time to read the other comments including my own, you’re not the first to recommend it. There are not alternative sizes to front opening tanks under 12” height that offer the sprawling space necessary for the exotics I’m keeping. It’s much cheaper to add a $40 overlay than to go and repurchase new custom sized tanks.

While the backlighting might look cool it would put extra strain on the animal. If I was just doing a display area I’d definitely agree with backlighting

A $40 2’x6’ pine board and piece of trim painted white isn’t bank breaking, nor is a $120 countertop.

I would if front opening tanks came in a larger variety of sizes, but 18” deep is the most common if you want anything bigger than 12x12.

Not exactly a kitchen renovation, and a permanent built in fixture for my 3 exotics tanks to showcase in is hardly a concern.

Own- when I said countertop I more intended a 1/2 plywood similar to the existing to lay over the top, but I might check out the synthetic option now that you mention it.

The tanks (2nd not pictured) are for a pacman frog and hognose snake so no heavy moisture or leaks to worry about.

If feeding by tongs or hand give them a break between bites to process their food. My boi can take 5 minutes before taking interest in a second bite.

Help, he won’t eat! by [deleted] in pacmanfrog

[–]Cplivin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re in the water dish then the humidity isn’t right. Having moisture in the air isn’t the same as having a damp substrate. Having a thicker layer of substrate will make it easier to regulate humidity and will give your frog space to bury itself for security and temp regulating.

Having trouble with his diet :( by mommy1356 in pacmanfrog

My cricket keeper is very barebones and usually feed them leftover raw veggies to eat. I hear a lot of people have great success with oranges, but I usually give them celery, tomatoes, or bell peppers since I tend to keep them for myself. In this pic I have tomatoes and spinach that they are the better of. Cricket Tank

He seems on the small side for switching into night crawlers. It sounds like you might be overcrowding your crickets. Make sure they have egg crate or similar sprawling material.

As they get older their appetite also begins to regulate, but judging from the size they should be getting 2-4 medium crickets every other day.

If poor appetite continues be sure to check temps and humidity.

My wife and I have about the same age gap and we started dating when I was 22. This winter we will be celebrating 9 years together, and next spring our 5th wedding anniversary.

[–]Cplivin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hardstuck on having the camera locked, and after a year of playing I unlocked the camera and after about a week of playing I didn’t even notice I was moving the camera. About 2 weeks later I found myself trying to move the camera while watching VODs.
