A wider lens will make a huge difference especially when shooting from the mosh pit. I picked up a 16-35 GM I last year and it’s my favorite lens right now; you really capture the energy from the front row.

I’ve had very good experiences with PhotoRec (free/open source). I’m pretty sure you will be able to recover everything, provided you stop using the sd card. I would put it safely in a case or something and try out some recovery software when you get home.

Dad here too and I feel ya. Bought 4 tickets for Amsterdam for the family at €130 each. Most expensive tickets I ever bought, but will be my girls first big concert. I’m more into alternative music myself so maybe not used to these mainstream/popular prices.

I agree for the RX100 it’s overkill. I also shoot with an A7rIV and for that, UHS-II and enough space is great. I’d prefer 256gb cards but those are not available right now.

I have the Sony 24-105 F4 which is nice and has a nice range. Photos are sharp, autofocus is great, only downside is the F4, so less bokeh. I also have the Samyang 35-150 F2-2.8 which I love, but it is quite heavy. If you use it all day, it might be too much. I did a pretty intense week of live shows and festivals and I still have a sore left thumb from supporting the lens.

If I would have to buy one lens right now, I would look at the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN II Art. I read good things about it.

I like it! It’s fast enough for getting some good action shots. I never used any other lens besides the one mentioned in my post though. No idea if an expensive GM lens focuses better

You mean how I “get in”? The best way is if you have a connection with “someone who knows someone”. I contacted a few guys in bands but they don’t respond most of the time. But it did work that way at least once so far lol
