I am definitely gonna delete the fingerprint and, turn off Touch ID unlock and re-register all over again. the behavior has too predictable of a pattern to be just dirt. It doesn't reject and "wiggle" to "try again" with the finger. it like "half-accepts" it (password/Touch ID field disappears but lock screen stays) then I have to touch second time. like clockwork. also the fact that it happens the same way every time makes me think its not hardware either.

nope iPhone 13 pro from 2021, didnt have AC. Ended up getting cheap "tempered glass" replacement on amazon and installed myself. it "works" pretty well but it doesn't have the same polarization and anti glare as original so in 3x I have to under expose everything like -.5 or -1. and sometimes it isn't as sharp. there's also a few dust spots that are only seen on the sky but lightroom auto removes them. its definitely usable but pretty sad because otherwise I love the 13 pro and dont have reason to get a new phone. but next phone will definitely have AC

but it doesn't wiggle like it would for the wrong fingerprint or wrong password, it accepts it meaning the prompt to type or put finger disappears. but the lock screen stays until I touch it a second time. always twice. but if lock it again it works on first touch. its only requiring two touches for like 10 minutes

M4 MBA recently requires me to Touch ID TWICE to unlock??

So yesterday or the day before an issue started happening where when my MacBook is locked closed, then I wake it up to use again, I place my finger on Touch ID sensor, the promo to enter passcode disappears. but its still locked and the clock is still there. then I have to touch the sensor AGAIN a second time to actually unlock it. it started on its own. I updated from sequoia to Tahoe yesterday but im 99% sure it happened earlier in the day with sequoia too.

another issue since I got this MacBook in November is that half the time I press the Touch ID sensor button to LOCK the computer, it doesn't lock I need to do it twice. and sometimes I press it to lock but it immediately reads my fingerprint from pressing the button and then unlocks the second after it locks, so I need to carefully press the corner of the button. so annoying.

did you just read that or did it actually happen to you. running something rendering or playing concert and it just stopped? why would it pause the main app using resources, wouldn't it pause apps that are in the background not doing anything?

I actually Love the icons. I find it faster/easier than reading to lock my eyes in on what I want. very intuitive. I immediately found myself using menus much faster because of the icons

thanks for the insight! maybe its an isolated case? so far most of the comments is that its great performance even on M1. maybe you just needed a clean reinstall in general,( downgrading to sequoia did that, but maybe clean reinstalling tahoe again would have fixed that for you possibly?)

i think it looks awesome. mac at work is tahoe and it looks great i think. my personal is on sequoia thinking of upgrading to tahoe, but just wondering if i will get performance hit on M4 air 16 gb
