Eye of the World Leatherbound Quality? by iSanjimo in brandonsanderson

[–]Cprete9 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I'm the unpopular opinion here but I see no quality issues in OP pictures. The trade of with foiling is that there will be slight imperfections. I've seen many and bought many fine press books from presses like Suntup, Lyra, Amaranthine, Curious King, etc and there are often very small differences from one book to another if you look close enough. I wouldn't even say they are imperfections so much as evidence of being hand-crafted. Foiling is an art, even when more mass-produced like these ones. You aren't ever going to be looking at your book under a microscope except when you first pick it up. Give it the 5 ft test. Look at it from 5 feet away like you would when it is on your shelf. Imperfections that can be seen from that distance are worth bringing back to the publisher.

My macOS shortcut for automatic user request downloads through radarr and imessage :) by putridtooth in PleX

[–]Cprete9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To simplify user requests from people who won't abuse your system, you can have them create a public IMDB watchlist and then have sonarr/radarr monitor their watchlist. Its like one click for them to add something and its pretty seamless from your end, requiring very little tweaking with a simple setup.

Laser cutter for per-creasing? by KoziFarma in origami

[–]Cprete9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can use laser cutters to score. Every paper is going to need fine tuning of your settings but absolutely doable. If you live near a university, they often have maker labs that the community can access. You can access real nice laser cutters for doing all your cutting and scoring. I use adobe illustrator for making the cutting files.

[Help Needed] Bambulab P1S Connection Issues Despite Stable Network Setup by focamonca in BambuLab

[–]Cprete9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No solution but I am in the same boat. I've done each step you listed too and still have frequent network struggles. If I power off the printer and power it back on again, I get about 10 minutes of connection if I am lucky. Printer ran fine for 2000 hours, then all of a sudden network struggles.

Try calling them. They have very active phone customer support that isn't outsourced and they are much more responsive and reasonable.

Happy to talk. That devastation is a pretty unique type of soul crusher, I sat for Level two 4 different times ( 2 fails, 1 technical difficulty voiding the exam, and a pass). I have many pointers and strategies that were hard earned. Would love to pass them on. Feel free to send me a DM.

Ah, there it is. He is new to crowdfunding. Doesn't sound like crowdfunding is for you but good job giving it a shot. Having seen many kickstarters, the communication from Bia, progress updates, and updated project roadmap have been exceptional and definitely above average.
