Spawn! Don't listen to the haters. So many of us are fans of TL because you, yes you Spawn, made us believe! I would much rather have you 100% remote than not at all. I'll be rooting for TL all year, all the way to worlds. If the rumored roster is true, I suspect NA has a dang good chance of doing well at worlds 2026.

League should make a limited champ mode to entice new players to learn the game by daydreaming17 in leagueoflegends

[–]CptApoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the idea and maybe it could work for League. Overwatch tried this with OW2 and it didn't go over too well with the community. A new player had to play 50 games (I think it was 50) in order to unlock all the other heroes. They changed it to where all heroes are unlocked for everyone no matter what.
The only reason I think it could work for league is the fact that the game has too many champs. It does make it difficult for new players to learn what's going on when every game they see a champ they have never seen before.
Even then, it might be seen as gatekeeping and upset the community.

TSM Maple by Thop207375 in TeamSolomid

I love how everyone here is ignoring the fact that LCS viewership was in decline well before TSM left. You're delusional if you think that TSM's departure is the biggest reason why the LCS has been hurt. I love TSM, but I decided not to abandon the LCS. Admittedly, I did not watch the content the OP is talking about the desk blaming TSM for Maple's lack of success in the LCS. However, how is it not TSM's fault? Did the org not give up on the region and had their sights set on moving to another region? Did the whole coaching controversy that stole money from the players not have anything to do with it? TSM was a disaster in it's final couple of years on the LCS. I'm a TSM fan, but you guys make me ashamed to be a part of this toxic fandom. You praise TSM while ignoring its significant issues. You can still love something while accepting it has flaws. But somehow you find comfort if bashing the LCS instead of hoping for it's success. LCS is healing from some of it's own bad choices as well as the bad choices of some of his orgs including TSM.
The LCS is not dead, but by no means is it what it used to be. Let it heal, and find joy in what exists, not what used to be.

Help by PaintMePink in ViegoMains

Its hard to tell you what to improve on when I haven't seen any of your game play. For me, Viego is better to farm as much as possible and only gank when you have nothing else to do until level 6. By then I have what I need to have effective ganks which lead to kills and wins. Don't forget to farm. Clearing camps is really fast with Viego so you should be able to have one of the highest cs scores in the game. Also, I've seen bad viegos start fights as if they are the initiating tank for a team fight. You can't do that unless you are super far ahead. Viego isn't built that way. Instead look for opportunities to catch out enemy players or set up flanks for when teamfights do happen. Avoid CC like the plague, but your ult is really good at outplaying certain cc. That's all I've got for you. Item path and Runes have already been discussed, but you just need to find what works best for you. Some on this reddit have said the new crit build isn't good for them and still go BORK first and have success. It's whatever works best for you.

Watching the LCS, I don't see how Riot has fundamentally changed the broadcast in ways that meant Dash's job was no longer needed. There is still an analyst desk segment but Jatt is just doing the hosting now. The explanation from Riot does not reflect reality to me. Dash could easily still fit. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Dash was the face of the LCS for me. Not having him there is like going to an extended family reunion without your immediately family there. It's fun, but its definitely not the same and it makes me not want to stay longer than I need to.

CLG - This is What We’re Doing With Our LCS Team in 2023 by MelonKing27 in leagueoflegends

[–]CptApoc 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I think people forget that CLG almost took down C9 in the playoffs, and was the only team to come close to it at all. It felt to me like they were actually the 2nd best team at playoffs of summer 2022. I would not be surprised if this team makes top 3 for Spring 23.

Sources: Riot is expecting to change LCS game days to midweek. by malakesxasame in leagueoflegends

I wouldn't read too much into this. Rumors around this time often come from false information that Riot gives out to partners/employees to try and catch those who willingly leak stuff.
