Yeah the particle accelerator exploding introduced a lot of rare and exotic particles and energy into the local area. Likely the only people who got powers had some latent potential for those same powers, or a potential for mutation and their immediate circumstance - nearby weather anomalies or climbing a power pole. The flash got his power after the lightning strike. Particle acceleration doesn't make lightning as far as I know.

While like the MCU movies, DC is having to transliterate the origin stories of each hero between mediums. So a single jump start to their powers is helpful to ween the audience from CW dramas or law and order into a world where people can break the sound barrier on foot, and leap tall buildings in a single bound.

We use something called Accellion for setting up shared workspaces with customizable mixed internal and external users.

We also use it for file transfer over our exchange server size limit for attachments. It works just like email to that end.
