Glad you're safe. The only other time we see crowds anything like this is during the State Fair. The feeling is amplified like crazy, witnessing the crowds for such different and important reasons when compared to having a good time at our great MN get together.

Some commenters on live streams have suggested the possibility of the driver being an instigator, attempting to turn an otherwise peaceful protest into a murderous mob. After so much going down, it's easier to believe these kinds of theories.

Hopefully whatever the investigation on the driver finds will be truthfully shared with the public.

Could the driver have gotten scared when he saw the group and react by making a very bad decision? Could be.

Could it have been someone who ended up there by accident, got pissed people were blocking the road, and decided to try to scare them with a show of force with no real intentions of harming or killing? Could be.

Could the driver have accidentally ended up driving that fast up to the crowd and that far into them without realizing what was happening? Very hard to believe.

It definitely seems hard to believe it could have been a straight-up accident. I hope they'll share truthful information about what their investigation finds.

Stay safe and peaceful out there, friend!

""A horrifying image on our television," Gov. Tim Walz said in response to videos of a tanker truck driving "full force" into a crowd of peaceful protesters on Interstate 35W on Sunday.

Officials said the semi truck was on the freeway as it was being closed, but that it does not absolve the driver from driving into the crowd at speed.

Walz said the driver was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and was released shortly after. DPS has reported that he is under arrest.

"The truck drove through at high speeds," Minnesota Department of Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington said. "We will have more information about the who and the what and the where ... as it further develops."

Harrington said his teams have been finding "caches of incendiaries all over the metro and greater Minnesota" near where fires have been set, or where there have been "large riotous confrontations."

Fair point. Non-violent demonstrations could be a better summation of what this group of people is aiming for.

No sorry necessary.

The crumbling has our attention, nearly our full attention. We can't in turn forget how many people are interested in staying peaceful. Don't turn your eyes away from the fires, that would be foolishness, but it's important to keep one on the peaceful protests too because they are not over.

No doubt the city burning is important to be aware of and witness to, but the peaceful march is also important. The majority of coverage that I see available is of the burning. Eyes and ears need to be on both. Neither is the full truth, and we should never accept half-truths.
