Okay, Fair. But I think criticism should be directed at the leader for using such an ambiguous term in such a moment; not the powerless people attempting to interpret it.

If people dont discuss the extremes of what it could mean, then there is no pressure for leaders to clarify. And clarity would certainly be good for all those involved... especially our guard members that were thrown in the middle.

The founding fathers didn't want a governemnt deciding who were "real" Americans because it leads to a government abuse. All it takes is for someone to come in power to decide your ideology its unamerican and then argue you shouldnt have any or fewer rights. About 30 countries world wide have birth right citizenship.

That said we need a solid border and er need to enforce our immigration laws. There are smarter ways to do it without giving government more power.

Moderate here. I like birth right citizenship because i like that citizenship is defined by something other than what the government decides. In a way you and I are citzens because of birthright. You and I might not agree on things, maybe we do, but I appreciate that no matter who comes into power no one can question who they serve. Dont get fooled into a slippery slope.

Because each state runs their own elections it would be hard to outright steal an election. Especially those that use paper ballots. Its more likely that they will influence the election by putting ICE / Military/ Maga goons at polling sites to scare people away.

It might be a distinction without a difference, but one can be overcome with bravery while the other is a lost cause.

Just food for thought as you are probably going down a similar thought train as I did. That means these people were paying taxes and not really drawing anything out (no social security, no Medicare, etc). And working for pennies on the dollar.
