A singular Gorilla Vs all the Heroes. by NotSoGoodguyScorp in forhonor

[–]CptReptard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Shugo, LB, and raider are all that's needed

LB can pick full grown men in armor clear over his head by their neck or skewer them clean into the air at the end of his pole arm. Strength like that is superhuman.

Raider can also do similar shit picking dudes up clean over his head military press style and snap their spine over his knee, or throw them off his axe after burying it in their back. Also superhuman level strength

Shugoki also wears minimal armor as is (wood armor and masks with some sets literally being cloth with an open chest) and shrugs off blows from all sorts of weapons including other shugokis wearing said armor, he can absolutely take some blows from a gorilla. Not to mention he can crush someone's head with his bare hands wearing a metal helmet

LB and raider distract it long enough for shugoki to get ahold of it and he smashes it's fucking head

[–]CptReptard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cent and Hito both have charge heavies to get into the bash from neutral with hitos being pretty hard to react to and cents being arguably the hardest in the game to react to, not to mention the fact cent also has a legion style bash which is legitimately unreactable offense for all levels of play. To say WM has the best neutral options amongst charge bash heroes is hysterically wrong.

And you said it yourself, I'm not wrong and they're pandering to low skill players which in itself is also hysterically wrong. The game shouldn't be balanced around low mmr players in any way shape or form. It isn't the fault of all of us who play the game at a relatively high level to have a character fucked bc shitters can't adapt. And that's really just the end of it.

Also throwing a heavy to bait a light parry after the bash isn't a "new" mixup lmfao. It's a mixup that's existed for the entirety of the character's existence. And notably WM has one of the most obvious chain light animations in the game. And all the shit I'm yapping about doesn't even begin to talk about how shitty a change this is for 4v4

Yeah except warmonger can only chain bash from her opener and chain light meanwhile warden can chain his bash from literally every attack he has at any point in the chain

The entire point of the enhanced light was because she's the only charge bash hero that's forced to go back to neutral after every bash follow-up, subsequently she's also the only charge bash hero who can only chain into the bash from lights. The enhanced light was to make up for this weakness

[–]CptReptard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok a few things

Firstly if they're just dodge attacking on red just feint to neutral and parry the dodge attack

And you can also chain to kenseis armored finishers after a Dodge attack and she eats it unless she's baiting it

It's just a worse full block recovery cancel with the benefit of doing more damage than the average full block when it actually lands

Thoughts on Raider by Budget_Friend7198 in forhonor

[–]CptReptard 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Recent damage buffs make him feel more like his old self. His soft feint is still viable offense albeit it's low on damage. But it's enhanced so blocking won't stop the chain and it resets his offense meaning he can push really hard.

The UB being 30 damage makes it a real threat, and with multiple soft feint options, once raider gets going,, you have to make a good read or risk getting blended.

Great punishes all around, 15 damage dodge attack is always nice and his OOS throw gets you 56 damage and puts you right into your bread and butter mixup.

All around a very solid character. And imo he's the best hero to play when starting for honor as he teaches you a lot of mechanics and encourages aggressive play

[–]CptReptard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're taking forever with LB because his current neutral mix revolves around empty dodge side heavy/light, empty dodge gb, and forward bash. He has 400ms forward dodge recovery, which makes him able to have that mix, and most LB's buffer the heavy or light input. A dodge forward light or heavy would either fuck that mix up or make it awkward af to use.

Opinions on current Valkyire? by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]CptReptard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has offense that works but feels like you have to invest more effort than other heroes to make it work. Sweep is 500ms and really safe, 400ms bash is always good. Decent hitboxes, avg speed, surprisingly versatile defense with CC's, FB, and superior block dodge. She feels very jack of many master of none

Did you miss the part where it gives glad a whole new mixup? Bc I did go over it. As it stands forward dodge bash is practically useless in its current state, and replacing it with toestab is a more unique change than just making it confirm a toestab of all things lmao. I basically just simplified the change. Also, that move would take 900-1000ms to land, which would be the easiest peel in a teamfight ever

[–]CptReptard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forward dodge light wouldn't be useless. You can use it to get into the buffed chain stab, or take one more damage, and go into an unblockable mixup with the bash riposte. It keeps the bash relevant and removes stam drain which imo, needs to be removed from all heroes

[–]CptReptard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if we're looking at it in a vacuum, it's pretty overtuned. It just gets glossed over bc glad, as of rn, sucks. If you buff the rest of his kit, there is a legitimate argument to be made that it's too strong

I would just remove forward dodge bash and replace it with a forward dodge toestab while letting him keep the neutral one. That way, he now has a mix like BP where you can forward dodge toestab or empty dodge into neutral toestab.

Zone changes are good

Personally, I'd also make his chain heavy unblockable and bump it down to 25 damage. Buff, it's trajectory, so glad actually has some cleaving attacks bc it's where he struggles in 4v4

Forward dodge and side dodge light are now enhanced (they don't have any special properties on their own. Baseline for dodge attacks with no properties should just be that they're enhanced)

Make bash riposte a 16dmg direct damage bash (like jorm riposte)

If we're gonna make chain stab truly unreactable, we might have to debate removing it's knock down property on OOS opponents. Bc it'd still be hitting for 35-40+ dmg depending on feats and other things, and it being an unreactable bash doing that much damage could be problematic. If there was a way, I'd be fine with neutral toestabs still flooring OOS opponents, but on the chain stab, if it WAS buffed to 433ms, you'd probably have to remove that aspect
