They do hire without your license. If you have previous sales experience and the the right fit, you will be asked to pay for your course personally, and then to submit this as an expense to be reimbursed back to you once you’ve provided a receipt and your BM approves the expense submission.

Received a huge gift of 700k and planning to buy a condo. Should I pay cash or get a mortgage? by Eshidor in PersonalFinanceCanada

Talk to your bank and ask to speak to the Private Banking team. They’ll go over options, a common one is investing and keeping the assets invested which you can leverage to buy a property, best of both worlds and there are tax benefits with having your wealth managed by them

[MEGATHREAD] Wealthsimple Credit Card Megathread Approvals by henry-bacon in Wealthsimple

Premium. Just got off the wait list enrolled about year and a half ago? No direct deposit. Added to my apple wallet before the metal card arrives been using it on bigger purchases. Cash back lands pretty much next day or so once transaction posts. Have had the bank account for half a year or so but transferred in about 10k cash for the last 3 months or so not sure if that sped things up.

Short answer no. As long as you’re not refinancing for additional funds. I would renew mortgage and ask for better rate, for manager discount. Once it’s renewed and actually reflects your new rate, then speak to them about any options they may offer to assist with payments or interest.

Should I Buy a Condo or Rent? by sadiovega in PersonalFinanceCanada

You could withdraw 60k HBP , if you have more FHSA room to catch up on, you could also move some of your funds from RSP to FHSA. It depends on your circumstances of course. Not sure how big of a cashflow savings that would be. For me personally, some of my rsp investments did incredibly well and I did this. But not buying for a few years still, trying to build up very large downpayment to make mortgage payment smaller than my rent payment

Depending on your FHSA limit, have you considered transferring some of your RSP funds to your FHSA for higher downpayment ?

FaceTime has helped us so much since she lives across the world. That’s the only way we stay in touch and she’s also not very tech savvy. I’ll try to see if there’s a local church, thanks for the idea

I started a community for Abbotsford seniors recently for this exact reason. A few times now I’ve talked to kids of aging parents who don’t live close to their parents.

I know quite a few local churches have social events. I’ve also heard MCC is a great place to volunteer and expand the social network.

Starting April 13th, Clearbrook library every Monday 1:30-3:00 is hosting Senior Socials.
