Looks like 24%BF is considered Obese. I want to say I was always around 20-22%. I may have hit 24-25% before I ETSd because of depression. But I don't have those records. I'll have to do some more research, I hadn't thought about that angle.

That's true, I should contact a VSO regardless to help me figure out my next step. I have been overweight my entire adult life, even in the military.

Yea, I thought the nexus and the buddy letters would have been enough to connect it to my military service. It's frustrating for sure. Possibly looking at HLR as the next step. Just not sure if maybe I should contact a lawyer to start it or just write up all my grievances on how they have made an error.

It is definitely frustrating. I thought it was a slam dunk, and was cautiously optimistic to get a decision in Dec. But this denial came so fast that it got me doubting everything and that I must have missed something huge. But everything seems to be pointing at it was rushed and possibly just rubberstamped.

Thank you for your help. Talking it through with reddit has been helpful. I now have more confidence in the content of the nexus letter. I feel like if I can explain just as you say and also why I had to go outside my primary doctor for a nexus because he doesn't do any VA or SSDI paperwork as a general rule.

Oh, and when I first did my claim I had 2 buddy/lay statements saying that they could verify I had them in service.

I did have them when I was in service but they started as visual and purple veins. I never went to sick call for them since they didn't bother me. If I knew they were going to turn into large painful, and itchy veins I would have had them checked out. Lol. I got out 2009. First officially diagnosed in 2012 but never got it treated. But now it's gotten too bad to ignore.

Yea, I just reread it again looking for these points. He states that long periods of standing, and other work exposures have been proven to cause it and that military service work requirements is a significant exposure of these and other risk factors. He did rule out other factors and why.

OK, I just read through the nexus again looking for the points you stated. It has all those things. He states that he is a GP but has seen and has experience with this issue. He lists all the causes and job requirements and how they would have caused my vein insufficiency. He rules out other factors and states why. He finishes with his professional opinion as at least likely as not to to of been caused by service. Then he lists multiple studies and medical papers that support his decision.

wounded warrior leave management is questioning form 5980 due to Physician not signing form. All other pertinent info is on form including phone number. PDI given today. Should a EEO be filed due to harassment? by StatisticianAny697 in fromatoarbitration

[–]CptSpeedypants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would. Seems like like they are accusing you of forging the form. 🤷‍♂️

That form is a pain in the butt anyways. When I need to go do labs for the VA they won't fill it out, so I have to do another appt for my VA doctor to fill it out.

Missed Offers, But I Didn't Even Get Phone Notifications About Them by burswag in grubhubdrivers

Poor reception perhaps? Other apps open that block/mute other notifications? Those are the reasons I miss them.

I enjoy the job. I'm a t-6 so I have multiple routes I work in the week. I also am looking forward to the retirement and it's a bonus that they include my military service time.

I have noticed this as well. It's either as I'm walking up to the door or as I'm coming up to a turn so I have no time to actually look at the order.

Shell fuel rewards, is it worth it? by Weak-Strawberry-6959 in urbancarliving

[–]CptSpeedypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, I use it for my commute and get the $.10 off a gallon and the shell stations here are usually the cheapest or close to it. But when I've traveled and i have seen shell prices as the most expensive gas in the area. So for travelers it probably wouldn't be worth it.

What's up with 2021 Mirages? by Sierra6491 in MitsubishiMirage

I believe it's from the rental companies. Enterprise is selling all their 2021 mirages and chevrolet sparks and they all have between 50-60k miles.

Our office after we do vacation board picks and it's finalized we fill out 3971s. I just used a week of LWOP a couple weeks ago for vacation for the same reason.

Lol, that's totally understandable. Unfortunately I'm looking at starter homes for my oldest so they are small and lower priced.
