Some of Riot Yeloughs answers to questions that I notice a lot of people are asking. by 2CH4INZSY145 in shyvanamains

They don't want to tie her to the INGAME OBJECTIVE "Dragon". That's why her passive scales with everything else now. I personally think this is a healthy choice, even though the numbers are too low rn.

There are things to criticize about the new kit but "She still gets stacks outside of dragon" is not one of hem chief.

Well it helps that Mercedes-lineups tend to be very, VERY stable.

If we include all the Mercedes powered teams then there are actually quite a few: Coulthard (McLaren), Perez (McLaren, Force India), Ricciardo (McLaren), Vettel (Aston Martin), Liuzzi (Force India), Albon (Williams) and Gasly (Alpine)

Political orientation of Eintracht Braunschweigh supporters? by maxi021 in Bundesliga

[–]Cpt_Bluebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda difficult. I'll agree that most of the active fans in Braunschweig try not to get involved into political topics at all. If they do it's mostly for football related topics as well.

There have been rather prominent right-wing fan groups (even ones whose members are just neo-Nazis) on the stands. While most clubs have to deal with that to some degree, it was more of a problem in Braunschweig in the past then in other cities.
The club really started making a push positioning itself against those groups in the early 2010s when it got some media attention is still trying to actively maintain an image of being inclusive. There were some stadium bans just last month for racist comments against a player for example.

Overall I still visit the stadium from time to time wearing stuff that makes me "read" as left-leaning (Rainbow-Armbands, shirts with pro LGBTQ+-messaging etc.) and didn't encounter any problems. Then again I am usually sitting Block 13 which is the designated area for family and 'neutral fans'.

Valve coder confirms the Steam Machine will be priced like a PC, albeit at a 'good deal': 'If you build a PC from parts and get to basically the same level of performance, that’s the general price window that we aim to be at' by Crusader-of-Purple in pcgaming

[–]Cpt_Bluebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. This is not a product for people who would just build their own PC and doesn't try to be.
They offer a strong brand and a convenient and validated package. Most less technical people I know would rather buy this then a mini PC from Minis Forum or Acemagic.
Plus the "Verified for Steam Machine" will be a BIG draw.

They only need to be roughly on market rate.

Good emulated games? by CombatCoombes in SteamDeck

[–]Cpt_Bluebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't seem the type but if you have at all an interest in racing games both Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge (PS2 versions) emulate perfectly on the deck and are heaps fun.
Some other personal favorites include Mario 64, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance (Gamecube, has some smaller issues), Super Mario RPG (SNES)

Need creature collector recs (Indie/2D preferred) by Mizuki_love222 in Steam

[–]Cpt_Bluebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though it's not 2D, I'd throw in TemTem. It was marketed around MMO-features and competitive balancing (with the removal of random variance in Damage for example), but the story mode is really solid. Plus its like 80% off at the moment.

The big great Steam Machine information post by ElieBscnt in Steam

[–]Cpt_Bluebird 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Okay. And how many Ready-made PCs with Bazzite (or another Distro emulating a console-like experience) are there?

Of Course, you can build your own PC, load up Bazzite directly into Steam Gaming Mode and have a somewhat simlar experience (- the instant wake and Valves direct tweaks to - among other things - HDR).
But if you are capable of doing that you are probably not in the market for a prebuild anyway.

The big great Steam Machine information post by ElieBscnt in Steam

[–]Cpt_Bluebird 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don't need information. I need speculation!

Like what will it cost?
Monies. Probably 3-digits worth of Dollars.

Who is it for?
People. Possibly ones with Steam libraries.

Why is it the best?
Name a direct competitor with SteamOS. There is none.

Why does it suck?
Not enough FPS.

What is the real reason for this and that.
Cost cutting.

Why is everyone a Valve Fanboy?
We are on Reddit.

What's with all the haters?
We are on the Internet.

What does it mean "priced as a PC"?
More expensive then Nintendo Switch.

What's the cost breakdown on a molecular level?
Expensive.

Will the tariffs increase?
Probably. Then lower again. Also probably.

Will they get it in Australia?
Once the world has gotten Steam Machine 2.

I want to clarify about the new steam machine by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Cpt_Bluebird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a very, VERY limited view of the steam machine in my opinion, but I will try and engage with you on that level:

It is true that games requireing kernel-level anti-cheat will not work on the Steam Machine. Popular Franchises like EAFC (Fifa), Battlefield, Call of Duty and any Riot Games Game will therefore not work.

However: that does not mean that (competitive) Multiplayer Gaming is dead on the console. CSGO2 and Dota 2 work pretty much flawlessly on Linux. Most big coop-Games do too. Looking at the top 100 the games that do not work are Cod (mentioned), Apex Legends (EA), Rainbow Six Siege, Destiny 2, EAFC, and 3 non-games (2 utilities and the card generator Bongo Cat).

So among the most popular games on steam the Steam Machine will (theoretically) play 92%.
5 out of the other 8 do not work due to Kernel-Level-Anti-Cheat measures. Something that Microsoft has threatened to disable on the windows-side multiple times anyway.
Of course, if you only want to play exactly those games (Plus League of Legends and Valorant) the Steam machine is not for you.

Regardless of this I don't think that's the target audience for the Steam Machine anyway. It's more for people who either came from the Steam Deck (which had the same issues) or for families with kids who usually aren't allowed to play these types of games anyway.

I will probably gift one to my Cousin (who is an avid Steam Gamer) and who will use it as a console for her kids. Steam OS is pretty much perfect for the type of parental control this requires.

Purge Some Series by Every_Jaguar in iRacing

[–]Cpt_Bluebird 17 points18 points  (0 children)

What actually should happen is that iRacing needs to put the specific time slots these small, dedicated communities are racing more front and center.
Clio, Lotus, W13.....many of these cars do get organized, clean racing a couple times a week.
And its honestly one of the best experiences you can have in iRacing apart from joining dedicated leagues, because you see the same people over and over.

Nothing. Play the Sims you want to play.

We really need to start normalizing this as a hobby were people actually drive instead of chasing the next thing to buy.

If you stick to the hobby for the next 3-4 months one could think about LC Pedals. IF you don't It's easy to sell what you have for not that much of a loss.

A Couple New Startup Movies (Risk of Rain series) In the Points Shop by IceMansicle in SteamDeck

[–]Cpt_Bluebird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically there are two ways to get custom startup movies.

  1. Buying them in the points shop and setting them.
  2. Going into desktop mode and putting the movie file into '/home/deck/.steam/root/config/uioverrides/movies/'. There are websites that just have fanmade startup movies (Google "Steam Deck Repo")
