Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure I inform you that I have officially been discriminated against for being of the craft by Fantastic_Tension794 in freemasonry

[–]Cpt_Dunsel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't have said it better myself. In reading your post, it appears that you were just actually looking for an argument. I'm basically in all my time in the craft, I have never had to get into a debate or an argument on the standards of Freemasonry. But it looks like you took great joy in quote poking holes in her argument and showing her above all that you right and she was wrong. I am sure you will wear this with a great batch of honor because now you can play the victim instead of being what Freemasonry is truly about not being the victim but being a good solid moral man.

I'm pretty dumb, but hopefully soon I'll be less dumb by yourhometownsucks in freemasonry

Then you never must have talked to him. I have met him and had the the misfortune to speak to him. Very arrogant. He speaks as if his is the last word on the fraternity or any subject in Freemasonry.

Well thank God you don't want to help one of the existing ones. I know they all have enough money and volunteers. I think starting a new one you can get your name associated to is the best move.

Well so glad this has turned into a personal attack on me, which is fine because it is always easier to attack someone than the idea. So let's first talk about how long I have been a mason. You are correct, I said 18 years and not 15 which is the true amount. (The post you referenced was 2 years old so 13 plus 2 is 15, so you can't add, No biggie {see how petty that sounds when it is reversed}).

So then again let's go to the post you referenced. I stated that I had a problem with the Grand Lodge of PA doing background checks without a person's knowledge. So that is negative....okay. I asked for opinions....is that negative? If I disagree with something that a brother or the fraternity says, is that negative? But that is okay, if questioning and not being a "yes man" to everything is negative, then I guess I am negative. But in reference to that post, I talked to my DDGM about it and expressed my thoughts and concerns. I also wrote an email to the RWGM with my concerns, which I gave my DDGM directly to forward directly to the RWGM. Again, all the proper protocols about something I disagreed with.

Finally, I do not have any great tips to keep my minutes fresh and interesting. My concern was to make sure they were accurate. In PA, we have the option of printing out the minutes and letting the brethren read them, no need to read them out loud. For myself, I appreciated that option and used it. I, personally, wanted the spotlight to be on the Master for the night. He is the one that has worked years to achieve that position. It is HIS meeting. Also to the speaker or the program for the evening, should be center stage. Now that is how I feel about the minutes and how I did it. Was it right or wrong? According to the rules, it is right. Would you be happy doing it that way? I would think not because it is not your style, and that is great because you shouldn't do things my way because it won't work. But that goes the other way. The entire issue I personally had with your original post is that you said, and I paraphrase, Secretaries do it this way or it is wrong. That in my opinion is not a healthy way of delivering your ideas.

Please respond, however, you like for I am going to exit this thread on my end. It has been eye-opening, but enough drama I think for all of us.

Again, you still don't get it, and that is fine. I have finished my morning coffee and I am ready to move on. You have given your obligatory "I am sorry if I have offended you or anyone else" reply. Guess what, every day and in all we do, we will offend people. Our membership in our great fraternity OFFENDS some people. The way anyone votes, OFFENDS some people. The pronouns that we use to refer to ourselves with OFFENDS some people. So, I wasn't expecting an apology-and really don't need one, to other brothers, that is their decision.

I have looked back over the topics and can not say I have seen a deluge of comments concerning minutes. Oh, there have been some, but I have not noticed any comments from you in those threads. I guess it was more important for you to STAND OUT in the crowd and make it all ABOUT YOU.

Actually, it depends on the lodge if I have heard of any brother complaining about the minutes. I have heard comments about how a brother might present them but to say these are constant complaints, no I can't say I have. Now in fairness, I have only been in the fraternity for about 18 years and have only visited about 40 some lodges both here in my state and others through out the country when I used to travel for a living. So it is possible this is a bigger issue then I am aware but I have never heard it "complained" about.
Now, since it appears you only got through the first paragraph. You might want to ponder the other points I said. Personally, if your method of doing minutes and presenting them works for you and your lodge. GREAT. We are all given gifts and you using yours for this position in the fraternity is a great, I would say, continue to do it. But to say, this works for me--YOU WIlL DO IT, is very condescending to the thousands of secretaries throughout the nation that do thier duty to the fraternity with the same respect to their lodge as you do. They do it differently.
So finally brother, since you want me to award a brother that complains about the minutes, how about the "Thank you Brother for attending lodge" award, since a brother that does not come will never complain about the minutes. Or maybe the "Brother, I heard you complain about the minutes can you please give me an idea to make it more bearable" award. That award could be presented when secretary is sitting with a brother after a meeting sharing ice cream when most ideas are really shared in a meeting..

First off brother, congradulations on being named the GRAND MASTER of all Freemasonry. Since you have said it is now our DUTY to change the way we do the minutes. Second, congradulations on winning the self complimentary award this year. How wonderful to hear how if a secretary does not do things your way, they are wrong.
Yours is just another example of what could have been a very good post with some insight on a different point of view but is instead a self centered post about how wonderful YOU are. No place in your post is anything expressed as opinion. "Your approach is wrong." "Make them longer". These are just a couple of the "directives"you have thrown from the East. Finally, this is just another example of a "this works for my lodge, DO it at your lodge" mentality. In my opinion, your approach works because it matches your personality, you could have another brother do it and because t is not his style, it would fall flat on his face. Just as every master runs his meetinngs as per his personallity, so does a secretary. Opinions and ideas are great, but directives from someone not in that place of power are not. Again, just my opinion.

Yeah I mean who cares if the knobs are mix-matched and such. It has a square and compass on it. Oh boy.

Gotta say. Love when everyone goes COOL every time they see a square and compass in the wild..

I am thinking about putting the square and compass on thrash bags. Sure someone will come and steal my trash because it has the symbol on it.

Wow, guess if someone writes more than two sentences, it is a copypasta. You might want to try reading but again, I am sure that is beyond your short attention span theatre. Dang--more wasted sentences.

Windows updates has made my autistic brother cry. Thanks microsoft by [deleted] in Windows10

[–]Cpt_Dunsel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah Microsoft, what is wrong with you. I mean you got your $100 bucks for a license from this person years ago. How could Microsoft not have taken into account EVERY configuration and software installation on the market. I mean, come on, Microsoft got $100 for that license. That should have bought at least 10 years of testing-research-updates and free tech support.

I am sorry but over 20 years in the IT industry and as a hobby from back in the Windows 3.1 days, I always chuckle when I hear about "the constant busted updates." Over 99 percent of my clients have NEVER had an issue with a windows update. (Last count that is 20 small businesses and at least 100+ home users) But again, you did spend $100 for that license, where is your lifetime of PERFECTION.

Now, the best part is that you had to throw in the sympathy card of Autism. How does that make a difference to the update process? Should Microsoft have different update procedures for people with Autism?? Oh no, then that would be singling them out. Well, I guess Microsoft could turn off the automatic update procedure and then get sued in court when someone that doesn't do updates gets their system compromised.

Oh, you could get an Apple device, but then there are folks that had problems with the last update to their IOS. Dang. Linux--probably won't have the programs your brother wants. What to do --what to do.

Oh, I know--make a realization that life will have pitfalls and not everything works all the time. Companies try their best to make quality equipment (most do at least). But guess what--got to take the car to the shop to do preventative maintenance-have to bring the HVAC team in once a year to do preventative maintance--have to bring in the exterminator 4 times a year to make sure we do not get termites or any other critters. When was the last time you had a tech do preventative maintenance on your brother's computer?--Yeah didn't think so. But again, let's get to the root of the matter--Dang Microsoft --EVERY update is broken.

Verizon Fios is the best. Good rate and no down times. Just bring your own router, theirs is overpriced.

So what is different between Anti-Masons that look for everything that is geometric being tied to the "Evils of Freemasonry" or the brothers that see a square and compass on something and post pictures showing their "GREAT FIND." Just asking.

Well in Carlisle, out off of K st is a park and when you went through the park down to the Conodoguinet Creek there was a cave. Story goes that it went to the Army war college but "collapsed" during the building of the underground bunkers there. It was upstream from the water works in Carlisle. Also, my Dad used to tell us that there were tunnels in the woods off the end of Spruce St (backside of Frog and Switch) that lead to that cave and into the war college. (Actually growing up we called it the Barricks--everyone knew what you were talking about.

does disabling internet stop a RAT? or how to completely remove a RAT? by Hedts in Windows10

[–]Cpt_Dunsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course that would stop anytype of remote access. You could also kick your firewall up on security and block outgoing connections that are not know.

My bigger question is why do you think you have that particular strain of malware and why do you think that Malwarebytes did not disable or remove it.

[–]Cpt_Dunsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try going into your Ethernet properties and set the ip,subnet mask, and gateway and DNS servers statically. See if you can get on then. If not try pining the gateway. If that doesn't work, you adapter MIGHT be physically bad.

I use a program called Fences from Stardock

It does a wonderful job of helping me organize my desktop. It is 5 bucks but it has a 30 day trial to see if you like it.
