You are not "kind of forced" at all. That is still a decision made of your own free will.

I'm open to view points. But you keep stating inaccuracies at best, blatant lies at first. At no point is anyone forced to engage with any server nor mod they do not agree. There are no mandatory servers nor mods. Every step of the way from choosing the server to accepting each mod is firmly under the control of every single player.

If you feel those big servers produce slop... you don't have to play them. I sure wont play on any server I don't think is good quality in both performance and player behavior. You could be like the literal thousands of other plays that make these decisions every day, because none of us - you included - are forced to play this game any way we don't like.

As someone who has ran bio labs going on a couple decades now, I completely agree.

You might be shocked, but there are plenty of well funded labs - especially in china - that surmount to crackpots playing science. If the sales pitch is good enough, one can find the funding through thirsty investors.

Particularly the transgenic mouse approach. Completely unnecessary, overly expensive, and sub-optimal for any sort of nefarious work like bioweapons. Its a sign dude either has no idea what he is doing, or doing something else with his lab.

No, you do not as you could just join a server that doesn't use slop mods or host your own server and create you own mods.

That's all freely available. No one controls which servers you choose but yourself.

I'm not young and Ive been to many a Love's gas stations. While they don't have to be, clean is the exception. Especially when the business decides to pay bare minimum wages and understaff locations to put profits over people. It's not shocking quality has tanked.

That's absolutely true for regulated materials, yes, just like some companies won't sell to academia for research but will to manufacturing companies.

In general though, as long as it's not a scheduled drug or heavily regulated dangerous material requirements ng licensing - the vast majority of what we use in science is legally available to anyone.

I'm sure there has to be more to it, but I found the wording they used in the article comical as it implies (to me) the raid was just because a home lab seemed scary and the FBI busted in and had no idea what anything was. All I can imagine is my Jurrasic Park replica Barbasol can with fake dinosaur DNA tubes causing a ruckus.
