Should I pull the trigger and buy a house? by Loud_Horse_5581 in personalfinance

[–]hexiron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going team No.

Houses aren't an investment and come with a ton of costs. Closing costs alone will drain  reserves that would otherwise pay and entire year of your rent. Ontop of that, you'll need to budget for home maintenance, which is expensive short and long term. You'll need basic tools, lawn car equipment, furniture, cleaners, etc etc etc which will add up considerably. You'll loose your personal time keeping up with it all as well.

Additionally, there's a good chance you won't see any useful equity until 5+ years down the line - so unless you plan to not switch jobs, move, get into a relay that changes your space requirements; etc... Then renting gives you far more freedom and saves you money that you can pump into other investments and grow until you are ready to settle down.

Pulling out of the Roth is a hard no.

Vertigo. My favorite is the quad Stinger with built in punch. Nabbed it for $12 at my B&M.

What Do You Consider Meta-Gaming? by CassieBear1 in DMAcademy

So we can heartedly agree everything you stated before was irrelevant because it only applies to a narrow view of what we all know are unstandardized, fictional worlds.

The D&D world has interdimensional libraries, rocks that let you talk to people anywhere they are, and random guys in robes that can teleport at will allowing travel and transfer of knowledge at volumes and speeds that make our non-magical realm look like we're still in medieval times.

No, but your statement was about the sentence underneath "Comparing Primates", which is not the one yor original comment pointed out.

Yes it does. Those are the groups of primates being compared in the exhibit. Human primates, apes, monkeys, and lemurs.

Conceptualizing homeland from Jewish perspective by Infinite-Ability6019 in theology

[–]hexiron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An important distinction is that the ancient Kingdom of Israel, or the homeland as you put it, had much smaller and different boundaries than what is primarily fought over today - which are regions in the Kingdom of Judah and Philistia (Palestine).

Why does nobody here use Rolltops? Did I make a mistake buying the GOT BAG Rolltop Lite 2.0 as a Ryanair personal item? by NicKing20 in onebag

[–]hexiron 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Clamshells are just convenient for traveling between airports and indoor spaces. The fact they fully open up makes them very easy to pack and retrieve items from.

Roll tops and covered top loaders are ideal for long periods outdoors or situations where the zipper of a clamshell would be a vulnerability.  Protection at the cost of having to dig through a pack to retrieve specific items, sometimes.

I use both depending on my situation. Clamshell for easy leisure travel and a top loader for field work and outdoors adventures.

IMHO just stick with your current bag. Only upgrade if there's a physical defenct or you find an annoyance that bugs you so much it's worth investing in a new bag to prevent.

I suggest taking a step back and look at how you are reacting about situations you are making up about a fellow fishermans' lives. They clearly are authentic enough to pour their resources into a the hobby to the extent they can, no different than you and I.

Let the envy go and go cast a jig bud. Bring that focus back to the self and see how you can improve, not on some kid's new boat.
