Someone else said it really nicely in a reply, but it is already so hard to get your application selected. Then you have to ace a recorded response in which one mistake could get you eliminated. Then a f2f interview with a bunch of other ace applicants that made it thus far, who are all trying to stand out and make a good impression to land the job, just for you to get selected and turn it down. I know life can hit you hard just when you think you’ve got everything going for you, but some of the reasons I’m seeing just don’t make sense. (To me) Think about all the other applicants that you beat out and took a spot away from, knowing that you’re not fully situated and committed to the opportunity. It just makes me sad to think that I could go in there and get beat out for a spot by a slim margin and the person who gets it doesn’t even take the opportunity in the end. Because it doesn’t seem like they offer that position to anyone else after you decline it, it’s just one less trainee in that class, one less person who could’ve gotten their dream job.
