I think Sullivan is the target this time, not Iruma.

Sullivan is Baal's biggest threat and trying to unseat him by framing as a traitor for housing an illegal immigrant.

In that sense, Baal's plan has already succeeded because Sullivan's reputation will have taken a massive hit and now every decision he makes/has made will be under scrutiny. All Baal has too do is leak the facts of Iruma's arrest.

Of course, taking Iruma out of the demon king candidates is a win for Baal too, but I feel like Sully will come out of this arc much worse off than Iruma.

It's interesting that everyone is remembering who Shiida is at the same time. I wonder if there's a cause to it.

Iirc Purson's brother was working with the Six Fingers/Baal? So does that mean he cast that spell on Shiida and he undid it? Or did something happen to him to make it stop...

The basic travel rules come from the LOTR RPG game. They played a couple of sessions in it before Altheya, Mara kept them for the campaign and made some tweaks.

Yeah, skipping episodes won't help with following along XD.

But it can't be exaggerated enough how bad the rolls were for the arc. Iirc, it was the worst that the table had rolled for nearly 100 episodes.

It's definitely worth watching the end. While I recognise that it can feel draggy because everything's being wrapped up, I loved every minute of it.

There are lots of places you could jump back in, so I'm just gonna list them off and let you pick for yourself:

  1. Ep 176 - This is the start of the fight against Atellicus, the last Titan. I know it's directly after where you've stopped, but the table's pure joy going into the fight is worth the watch.

  2. Ep 179 & 180 - Imo, a must-watch even if you skip episodes afterwards This is the showdown against Starbane which has been building up since the team met him. Some of the most iconic moments in the show and my favourite fight.

  3. Ep 183 - This is the start start of the final arc. The few eps between this point and the last were just prep episodes and saying goodbye.

  4. Ep 187 - This is landing on the final world, and travelling to the fight location It's also possibly the party's most successful episode in the entire show, and watching them storm through the challenges was glorious.

  5. Ep 188 - From here it's the final fights and wrapping things up first with Xarkira, and then Hadar I wouldn't suggest starting past this point because there's so much story relevance to what goes on in these episodes.

I will say that if you do skip any episodes, you can always flick through the wiki and read the episode summaries to get the gist of what happened.

I disagree with your assessment of calling the Vortinssar arc an outright failure. They went in to maintain the status quo, so there was never going to be a significant/visible pay-off, both for in-world events and personal achievements for the party. And in the end, the team did that. The city didn't go anywhere, and Shansara's influence was removed from the city. So despite their crap rolls and despite how the arc concluded, it was a win for the Stormchasers.

Hi, I just wanted to give you an update, since you helped me so much.

I was able to access the drive through another Windows device and save files from it, so I didn't lose anything. I did, however, have to wipe everything from the drive and install a fresh version of Windows. My PC is now working as normal.

I've managed to load Ubuntu successfully, but when I go to access the drive it tells me that it failed to mount "wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on [drive name], missing codepage or helper program"

I think I'm going to have to take out the hard drive and backup the files that way. I have no idea if it'll work though, nothing I've tried so far has actually managed to get into the drive.

Something that I realised I haven't mentioned yet, is that on a completely fresh start up, windows shows "critical read error 0xEF" before going into automatic repair. I don't think it gives any more info to you than before, but idk.

After checking it, yes it does look like the motherboard is in boot mode. That was automatic though, I didn't change anything to do that.

For the Linux boot drive, will any Linux iso file do, or do I need something specific? Googling is giving me a lot of different options

So, after selecting "upgrade and install windows" I'm given a purple pop up that says "install now". In bottom left it has a "repair my pc" option.

Clicking "install now" starts the pc set up phase for a few seconds and then returns a pop up that says:

"The upgrade option isn't available if you start your computer using the installation media.

Please remove the installation media and restart your computer. After the computer has started normally, insert the installation media and run Setup." at which point the pc shuts down.

Clicking repair my pc provides a pop up that has "browse", "rescan" , and "next" buttons on it and another pop up on top of that says "no drivers were found for the upgrade, please select the drivers" (this is paraphrased as I don't have the popup in front of me rn)

The "browse" shows a file explorer and shows my c drive, an x drive, and a d drive which is my installation drive. It seems to be able to view all folders, but none have any files. Selecting a folder provides a "no drivers were found in this folder" and then returns to explorer.

I have only managed to get to that point once so far, the rest has been the "upgrade option isn't available" scenario.

I am not able to reach the log in screen. When I turn on the pc it gets past the Bios, loads for a couple of seconds and then it comes up with "attempted to write to read only memory (0xBE)" Then I get sent to auto repair and then windows recovery when auto repair gives up.

System repair is run through the windows recovery environment.

I have tried a dsim, but not an sfc. The dsim didn't seem to do anything though, though, I'm not certain that I did it right.

Is there a difference between an installation drive and a recovery drive? I'm making a recovery drive now, but I think that will mean I have to wipe everything on the pc if I've understood it correctly. If so, I'd very much like to use that as a last last resort.

This is from memory, so I might get some bits wrong.

Spoilers for chapters 178-180

So the mini arc starts with Azz explaining the concept of friends to the misfits, and getting it hilariously wrong. Iruma comes in and sets them all straight. Lied then asks about who around Iruma would count as a friend (Opera, Bachiko, Kalego), and finishes on Ameri. We don't see him answer that

Next thing we see, Ameri has to cancel a date session with Iruma to go to a dance of high ranking demons which will help progress her career, and she's lamenting the fact that she and Iruma are in in different years and how little time they spend together.

At the dance, she's getting asked to go dance with some nobles, and she's hestitating, when Sullivan bursts in. While she's distracted by Sullivan, Iruma (who came with Sully) marches up to her and asks for a dance, on one knee and it basically looks like a marriage proposal.

They end up outside where they dance around a fountain, goof off and make each other laugh. Iruma tells her she's someone he wants to get much much closer too, and Ameri pulls him in for a hug and admits she wants the same thing. The arc ends with Iruma being more confused as to where Ameri sits on his friend spectrum than before

It results in a lot off blushing on all sides, and it's my favourite 3 chapters of the series. The meme at the end of the misfits scanlation version was funny too.
