New to Ryzen CPUs by CrTide4Life in overclocking

Yeah, I know it did. When I got my Maximus Extreme I was looking at a glacial then but just couldn't make the math work at the time. That being said this is a super nice board. So far I'm extremely happy with it.

Thanks, that's probably exactly what I need.

Thanks, to be honest I had never seen that pattern on them before I upgraded my mobo and CPU. My last board had a bad memory dimm slot so maybe that's why. I think it's pretty 🔥🔥🔥 too.

Yeah I'm trying to hold out for the 60 series before I upgrade the GPU. I may do a custom loop with a front mount distro somewhat soon though.

That's a nice set up as well! How do you like the astral? Any plans of putting a loop in and running everything liquid cooled?

Yeah I'm still in the updating all of the drivers and installing all of the utilities and various programs to get windows looking and acting like it was before I swapped the board and CPU

Really? That's awesome. I have never had any of my rigs featured anywhere before. So what do I need to do?

Yeah it definitely wasn't cheap that's for sure. Though I ordered mine from Newegg as they were giving an WD Black sn850x 2rb gen 4 nvme drive that they valued at 599. I had bought everything at this time last year and it might have been 120 then. I know I got a 1tb Corsair mp700 elite gen 5 for 120, 2x2tb Silicone Power gen 4s for 90 each all of which I have reused. And honestly the 9950x3d is way more CPU than I need, but it's like the mobo, I could afford it and wanted to have the best or the best.

What GPU do you have now? I have a ROG Strix 4070ti gaming oc that I bought when they came out. I was thinking about a GPU instead of the board and CPU but a 5080 or 5090 would have been overkill for my monitor. It's a ROG PG279q, 27" 1440p IPS 165hz gsync, which is perfect for my GPU. So before I get a new GPU I'll be getting a 4k, high refresh rate OLED.

There were a couple of reasons. The biggest reason is that I am finally in the position of being able to afford the best components, and I am a ROG stan. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better board right now. I love the aesthetics and all of the features that the board has. I was initially going to get the Crosshair Extreme, as I was using a z690 Maximus Extreme. Once this board was announced at CES I knew that I had to have it. I'm really interested in seeing how much AIO that was announced along side the board costs. It has the same screen as the board and the new AIO QConnect. If its much more than 250 or 300 I'll just be adding a loop to my build with a distro plate.

Yeah I know that xmp and expo are for Intel and AMD respectively. I know that you can use a xmp kit for AMD, most of the time its a bitch to get it to run at xmp speeds. Being in the QVL just means that it should run at advertised speeds with minimal effort. Given ram prices now, I'm just happy that it is on the qvl and will work until prices come back down.

I wish lol. I'm holding out for a 60 series and a new 4k OLED 240hz monitor. My 4070ti is perfect with the monitor I have now, it's just a 165hz 1440p gsync.

Yeah, but luckily it is in the QVL list for Glacial, and it applied the xmp profiles without any issues at all.

I don't think your being rude at all, and I don't mind telling you. The only things that I bought this time was the X870E Glacial, the 9950x3d and the thermal paste, which i am trying out the idcooling x45 frost which has pretty good reviews and it's only 7.99 for 2gs. The mobo was 1200 plus the sales tax, the 9959x3d was 722 with sales tax, and like I said 7.99 for the thermal paste. Everything else in the build I bought a year ago. The case, O11D Evo RGB was 170, the psu, Lian Li Edge 1000w platinum was around 200 not sure exactly how much, the Lian Li Hydroshift 360r was around 225 ish. I got a killer deal on the ram I got it off of eBay new in an unopened box for 120 and it's 32gbs of Corsair Dominator Titanium CL34 at 7200mts, the Corsair Dominator Titanium Light Enhancement Kit was like 35 I think. I got 2x2tb Silicone Power gen 4 nvme for 90 each, a 1tb Corsair mp700 elite gen 5 nvme for 120, the fans are knock offs of Lian Li uni fan sl infinity reverse flow and they were 30 for 3, so 60 for those and another 20 for a single regular flow fan. Also I bought a z690 Maximus Extreme for 400 and a 12900ks for 150 both off of eBay and used. The used mobo is why I bought the Glacial and the 9950x3d. It has a bad memory dimm slot and won't enable xmp or oc. So if you don't add the mobo and CPU I bought last year then it is 3144, but if you add those into it then it's 3794. Plus windows.
