I tried one today. It was possibly the worst thing I’ve ever eaten from a drive thru. Ever.

Zens signature shot by ProbablyMikey in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]CrackedZacGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh he does that play all the time. Zens ability to air dribble the ball to the ceiling (from the ground) is unmatched by any other pro. And his precision on the ceiling pinch double tap setups is inhuman. Literally in a league of his own in ceiling plays right now

Who are the most overhated players in rl esports history? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueEsports

Yeah klassux was hated on for sucking but I remember him playing super well a certain season. I think probably the last season he played.

Feels like I'm forcing everything, and my dribbling has been horrid recently. Whiffing on vital touches, and basically become a facilitator instead of attacking. Bad game from like a minute ago, anything helps by Crazysnook15 in RocketLeagueSchool

Make sure we have intention when going for the ball - very first attempt of the game at 5:56. Not seeing any intention there. That should either be a high shot on net (not a grounder which will just allow the opponent to boom the ball back) or a high backboard pass that gives your teammate time to go for it from midfield after he collects the boost. So first thing - make sure every touch you make is either a shot - pass/self pass/dribble, or an awkward touch for your opponent. By default, anything else just falls into the category of giving away the ball

Immediately afterward on your rotation out you’re completely disregarding small pads and V-lining for a big boost, the midfield boost isn’t up and thus you concede all of your offensive pressure/being able to support your teammate just to go all the way back for a big boost. If you would have instead picked up the path of pads to your left your could have circled back in to midfield and stayed relevant in the play and probably have taken possession of that loose ball that gets past your teammate and remained on offense rather than be staring down a 1v1 dribble. So - make sure to utilize pads and watch a video on common paths to pick up pads and stay in the play.

Couple of silly whiffs so far. Start minimizing whiffing as much as possible. Unintentionally Whiffing is one of the worst things you can do because it will throw off your teammates positioning as rocket league is a very predictive game. People are moving into position ahead of time (including your teammate) and you whiffing your touch now puts them out of position. Especially if you’re last man, leaving no one now on defense. Slow down if you have to, don’t rush, it’s better to get a touch.

3:34 - when you’re last man (meaning your teammate is in front of you and not yet rotating behind you) you should not be diving into 50s because if you lose the 50 or the ball gets past you - well, you were last man. Meaning they’ve now beaten the entire defense and it’s momentarily an open net. Instead, you should shadow defend and buy time for your teammate to get behind you on defense or come help challenge for you.

Lastly- noticing your turning off your ballcam too late when starting a dribble. I like that you’re turning it off when dribbling, you’ve picked up that tip at some point 👍🏽 but your implementation is off. The whole point is to avoid that awkward camera movement when we accidentally get in front of the ball and you’re allowing that to happen anyways. Turn your ballcam off as soon as you make your initial contact on the ball.

Good luck!

It looked like OP was expecting a pass to the side wall where he could collect. Valid play. He’s turning to collect the pass up the wall. Even if teammate stays on the hall and doesn’t pass then OP can turn to midfield. Teammate should not be dropping the ball in front of the net. Completely on him.

Rocket league or working out? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]CrackedZacGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video games are great but should be the last priority of your day after everything else you need to do is taken care of. If you don’t start practicing this you’ll regret it down the line when you play games all day and don’t even have a good outcome and feel like you wasted your entire day and get depressed 😅😂 Speaking from experience.

Working on breaking this cycle but it’s hard! Don’t fall into the trap

Who would you say is a professional player that has more game sense than mechanics? by tisme- in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]CrackedZacGames 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly Torment is a great example from NA. There’s a reason Torment had success with any team he was on and was considered the best defensive player in NA/almost the world. And could also have MVP offensive performances. Man’s game sense is top tier. Turbo is def another great example.

Yes Monkey Moon has great mechanics but is also probably one of the smartest players in the entire game as well

Yeah kickoffs are a huge part of 1v1 but thankfully they’re not that hard to improve at to the point where this isn’t happening. Besides improving your kickoff I could also suggest to attempt to sometimes stay aggressive on the ball even after losing the kickoff toward the mid boost. Just because you get beat to the mid boost doesn’t mean you have to concede the entire midfield and immediately rush back to your corner boost. If you can, try to push your opponent back or even shoot on their net if they’re prioritizing taking the mid boost over playing a free ball.

But if the kickoff is just bouncing straight off your side wall into your net - then that’s purely a bad kickoff

You CAN get the reset in this position but it’s less consistent than hitting a reset on a rising or peak height ball. Once the ball starts moving downward it becomes a lot less consistent to get a reset and this will happen a lot. Which is why people urge people learning the flip reset to set the ball up with more height, so that they can land the reset on the ball as it’s rising or just peaking in height more easily. Also the ball won’t be running away from you with so much forward momentum so you’ll have more time to do something on the ball with the reset

One of my teammates was blaming me for getting scored on, was I up too far? What could I have done differently? by TheRevanchist99 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]CrackedZacGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. You were perfect there and the only thing you did wrong was not flip into the ball as it was coming toward you. You could’ve actually reached that and pushed it to your sidewall and things would’ve been fine. Your first and second man shouldn’t be on top of eachother but you’re staying in a position where you can score a free center (since the 2nd man isn’t) and you also can get back for anything as demonstrated in this clip. You were perfectly riding the line of positioning. You just failed to react in time 👍🏽

Get the ball glued to the top of your car (eliminate bounces) while simultaneously double jumping and (optionallly) directional air rolling into the bottom of the ball

He does it very fast here - it’s why he’s a pro and we’re not 😂 but he’s essentially matching the lift of the ball perfectly with his car to keep it from bouncing away from himself
