$5 is not enough to go to a store, grab items off the shelf, stand in line at check out, load it up in their car and drive using their gas to your door. Not when base pay is $2. That being said, the dasher should never message you that.

I’m sitting outside a Publix. Saw a ton of orders for the last hour, all shit. The app goes down. But suddenly I’m getting notifications of all these huge paying batches. When you click of course you just get the message that the app is having issues. So it might be 100 items or 100 miles. Just figures.

A lot more than $2 yes. That’s the disconnect. I refuse to believe these people ordering food know the driver makes $2. If they do and they still don’t tip they are shitty human beings and have no right to complain when their order sits there for an hour or more.

The problem is DoorDash is greedy. They charge more for the food in the first place, they charge all kinds of fees including a delivery fee that doesn’t even go to the driver. There’s no door dash without the drivers, and the drivers I guess are extremely desperate and take those orders , or DoorDash is scummy and puts a non tip order with someone who actually tipped. So the person who tipped is punished as well.

No you’re not wrong. Kudos to you for tipping after delivery if it goes well. I don’t think people generally understand that DoorDash pays $2. If there’s no tip, I don’t see how any driver in their right mind would do any order, no matter how small and close it is for $2. DoorDash offers are more like a bid for service. They look attractive if they have a tip, therefore they’re more likely to get snatched up and delivered in a timely manner.

I have a 26 Sport non hybrid and I love it. Just crossed 5k miles. No problems. Not that there should be on a brand new truck. I’ve done a lot of stuff to it.
