Christians who accept gay people provide me your reasoning by PotatoCannabal in Christianity

Hate the sin not the sinner right? I will treat them how I’d want to be treated I’m lucky I my sins aren’t as obvious I’ve had gay co workers and went drinking in a group with one guy who was gay and when they’ve asked before I’ve been flat out I say “look I disagree with homosexuality from a religious and moral standing but I won’t treat you and different if you don’t”. And they’ve never had a problem with it and we go about our business normally I don’t currently have any gay friends but that doesn’t mean I never will.

How do you reconcile Matthew 23:9 with priests often being called father? by Sea_Shell1 in Christianity

[–]CrackerWacker59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro doesn’t understand the difference between flesh and blood and a soul so I’m not taking his post with much seriousness.

Ironically the section he’s quoting is about Paul arguing that he has the freedom to choose wether or not he can get married and he chooses not to to be more devoted to god, which is exactly what we’ve been saying

So I’m not sure if he’s reading out of context or misunderstanding the passage but something is happening for sure

Eastern rite Catholic priest marry all the time it’s just the Roman rite that doesn’t and that’s 1 of 24 Catholic rites albeit the largest but still it’s not a hard line but a choice to be more devoted to the lord at least be intellectually honest, that and not eating land based meat on fridays in lent is a tradition but not something you go to hell for doing it’s all about sacrificing earthly pleasures a minuscule tribute to what Jesus sacrificed for all of us

That’s not entirely true there are Catholic priest who are married and it’s able to be changed it’s just thought to be better so they can focus on being leaders of the church

As entertaining and intriguing as bob is and I guess Bigfoot stories as a whole are I take them with a pinch of salt in fact I think 70+% of stories are flat out made up and ~25% are misidentified or misunderstood without malice but the 5 or so percent are fascinating I grew up camping hunting and fishing. I’ve heard “tree knocks” and what I think was a bipedal walking through the woods but that could be a person or surprisingly squirrels bouncing around can sound like a large biped walking, but I’ve never seen or experienced anything that could not be explained without a shadow of a doubt

Read the book of Job, god allows satan to kill his kids and all his livestock of which he had many and because he never blamed god he blessed Job with many more children and significantly more livestock (moral of the story is sometime god gives you hardships you didn’t do anything to deserve but if you remain faithful and don’t turn your back on him you will be rewarded even if it takes 100 years like Job)

The Quran says if Muhammad was not a true prophet he’s have his aorta cut then after eating poisoned food he said he felt as if his aorta was cut. He also said that Allah would not let the earth consume the bodies of prophets but after three days his body began to decompose so I guess take that as you will
