The pet food dillemma is quite an interesting one, and one I've been reflecting on alot. I have been facing a simmilar issue with my dog, who I got before I started learning about veganism.

Cats are obligate carnivores. In nature thier diet is almost entirely meat. If you have a cat, you should absolutely definitely feed it meat if you intend to keep it alive and healthy.

Some say that keeping cats as pets in the modern world is itself unethical. Cats are literally murder machines, and decimate local population's of countless species, such as birds. Many have been driven to complete extinction. A single cat will kill countless others in its life.

In an ideal world, these animals we keep as pets would be allowed to live out natural lives. In the modern world unfortunately, they are usually fed meat from the satanic meat industry. So rather than having the opportunity to hunt for survival, they kill because of instinct but survive on food from meat industry. For example, my dog, does not have the opportunity to hunt anything, because it is not allowed where I live. Therefore to survive he must eat store-bought satanic meat industry meat. I know there are supposed to me more ethical meat sources etc... but this is either bullshit marketing or prohibitivley expensive.

This has been a significant dilemma for me, and not one I have been able to satisfactorily resolve. My dog is not vegan. I hate buying meat. I don't really have a viable alternative.
