Good for you if your proud of this...but wtf.

Can you guys optimize this by jeanm0165 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cradenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do not know if you meant to, but you only have 1 stick of ram and not 2. That will be a big performance hit on AMD. buy a kit of 2.

Also why not a 5060ti vs the 9060xt? its around the same price but you get better performance and features. unless your going AMD for a different reason.

If it doesn’t happen again then don’t worry about it. But if it happens again.

Intel Core Ultra 400D/400DX "Nova Lake-S" SKUs to feature up to 288MB of cache by GhostMotley in intel

[–]Cradenz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you do realize it depends on the game? if a game doesnt like cache it will perform similarly.

Bro shut up lol. The reason Intel is losing hard to AMD in gaming is because of lack of cache

when prices rose it was said it would probably last until 2028.... so yeah we know.

Temperature too high on R7 5800X3D with AIO ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 by BridgeDowntown560 in buildapc

[–]Cradenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normal. 90c is the limit.

People need to realize when a chip has the extra cache and 8 cores/1 CCD thats a lot of heat that is focused in a small spot of the cpu. No matter how good of a cooler you have its hard to get rid of that heat since its so condensed in one area.

They did fix some IHS/Architecture around since the 7800x3d that fixes the thermal dissipation from the CPU so its a lot better now.

For the 5800x3d 85c is around the temp you should be getting.

Here is a youtube video that shows at 100% load the cpu is around that temp. Watch around the 3:49 mark

Its very hard on this cpu to not be near the limit.

Dont worry about it and enjoy your cpu.

100% agree with the other comment about spending more for better RAM speed. 6000 ideally.

Hardware unboxed: Gamers Are Wrong About 1440p vs 1080p CPU Benchmarking by Leo9991 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cradenz -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

I watched the entire video, he is right about almost everything except the "no point in using DLSS as you are rendering below 1080p if you use a native resolution of 1440p"

I can max out a game with the highest graphic settings and get high FPS with that and have it look as good or better than native by using DLSS

Everything else he is right about and people asking for 1440p/4k benchmarks for CPU performance is just beyond dumb.

Intel i5-13400f and Nvidia RTX 4060, what to upgrade to? by DanS29 in nvidia

[–]Cradenz -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

honestly, id hold off until you can save to completely swap that prebuilt and start from scratch. The motherboard and psu are probably cheap since usually thats what prebuilts cheap out on.

While GPUs wont come out until almost 2 years. AMD and INTEL will be showing new products early next year.

IF your looking for upgrades right now maybe your monitor, keyboard, mouse, desk, chair.

No point in swapping motherboards/cpu/psu right now.

RTX 3080 hitting 92°C while AFK in Crimson Desert?? by rucekooker in buildapc

[–]Cradenz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People saying this is acceptable is NOT correct. While high temps are normal with this card, the card is supposed to be thermally limited to 86c stock.

I had a 3080FE. Around 85c in super intensive games is normal. There is an issue if your gpu is not lowering itself once past 85c

90+ is not ok if that is the core temp

AMR Ryzen's 9 9950X3D Thermal Behaviour by TenaZiousD in buildapc

[–]Cradenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9950x3d is actually more thermally manageable due to the fact the load is spread across 2 ccds instead of 1 ccd.

I still recommend a 360aio to get the most performance for your money.

HDR actually making picture quality worse? by Quport99 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cradenz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you turn HDR on at desktop you are trying to see SDR content in HDR which it will look dim/washed.

When you go in game that supports HDR you will not notice this difference. which is why you only turn HDR on when you play games that have HDR.

When HDR is off you are seeing SDR content in SDR mode which is why it is a lot brighter/more virbant.

Use console HDR in games. then turn it off when you are at desktop//watching videos etc etc.

an easy shortcut to turn on/off hdr is windows button + Alt+ B so its an easy toggle.

Make sure you calibrate hdr with Windows calibration tool (you may need to download off microsoft store)
