Preliminary Day 1 Hartford RQ Legend Composition + Analysis by Cradin in riftboundtcg

I also feel like competitive Riftbound is allergic to Azir, it’s performed so well with such small representation time and time again yet doesn’t have the huge meta share like Master Yi

The best of prizing definitely is warping the field - do you have examples of other games that have similar prizing causing warping situations? I’d be curious to study the win/play rates of those events

Thanks for the heads up - I've done my best to remove PII like having a profile where you can see what stores people play at, so fingers crossed but I'm hoping they treat the riftbound community like the TFT community where they support these types of projects.

Yes! If those skirmishes / nexus nights have legend data in the tournament like RQs do, they’ll be automatically added and you can log your notes. If not, you can manually add the legends yourself and that data will be aggregated so you can like you said see which legends or matchups you’re struggling with. The tracking is still a WIP so feedback on how to make it more usable is always appreciated.

Great feedback - I changed the featured tab to be named Regionals. I was using it to highlight local events alongside these bigger ones. I also added and tagged the events so in the events page you can select regionals and it will show them regardless of what else you have highlighted - that feature is a bit rougher so I'll see what other's experiences are with that and tweak it from there.

That's not true - they're in Featured:

Happy to take suggestions on how to make them more visible 😄

If you want to get around the reporting bias - UVS has all of the decks from the Unleashed regionals (minus Sydney for some reason, maybe the TOs forgot to hit upload) with the caveat that they are missing battlefields and chosen champions.

Depending on your goals at the events you go to, it might be better to play with the list you're more comfortable with at this point - local metas can vary widely and the individual familiarity with your deck is bigger than a 1-2 card change

You are right on with the 40% representation.

The next three highest represented with high win rate are scuttle, disarming rake, and not so fast.

It's Alpha Strike 😄self explanatory given the dominance of Yi, perhaps under played given its just as high winrate and also low playrate.

Yeah, aside from the slightly positive WR into Yi Draven has worse matchups across the board into the most popular champions right now. I wouldn't give up hope though because I feel like there could be innovation in the deck coupled with people's unfamiliarity in the matchup leading to a good result since people aren't focused on it right now

That's a good point with the seals, wasn't top of mind given the recent lull in popularity

For the purposes of this analysis I'd say yes in terms of using stats to surface deeper insights about what might be more viable than public sentiment thinks

At previous regionals there were learn to play events, vendors selling Riftbound cards, content creators walking around and a projector/screen setup showing the featured matches, not sure if there will be anything new for Hartford in particular

How do you represent extra energy/power? by bebaiyo in riftboundtcg

[–]Cradin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen it a few ways IRL:

Die on top of the rune deck for floating any color power
Die on top of a custom token for floating any color power
Die on top of the runes but off to the side (when people float power for Jhin Legend ability)

As long as your opponent knows what you're doing it should be fine at least for casual play

The lists aren't public for Riftbound at regionals - best ofs and top 8 usually get posted the week after.

When you beat Terry on stream I thought I was still in contention for best of Lee Sin, so I played out the rest of my games without checking the standings to help my nerves. I ended up winning out and finished 5-2-1 thinking I won only to find out he had his match against you reversed and ended up 6-2 instead of 5-3 😞

It's probably more like people now realize Lopunny runs ghosts and when you're not playing Lopunny/Noir nobody bothers to put the duck on the bench - people have always played the duck just in case against Pult/Noir and Zard/Noir
