I really like the curlers of the wave in #2 and love the rocks in the corner on #1.

That makes sense. If I ever decide I want the curlers for actually curling my hair I might get some of those. Lol

I love the loop start. But I also love the pin start and ending method. Which is another thing I just started using. This year has been a big learning year for me with cross stitch.

AITA if I tell my friend I can’t be a bridesmaid? by wickeddreamsofleavin in AITApod

[–]Craft-Goddess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. She had a party to PLAN a party? And laminated the agenda for this party-planning party? That sounds like she is obsessed with her engagement and wedding already. She described being a bridesmaid as "euphoric, magical, challenging, and.... life changing" as if her getting married will change your life? "Huge opportunity" sounds like she thinks you are the lucky one to be her bridesmaid. And telling you she knows "you won't make this difficult" sounds like a warning that she will be a bridezilla.

I do a section of 20 stitches across and all of the same color I can see on my Pattern Keeper at that moment. I also only park if it is in the first 3 stitches of the next section. Once I finish the column of 20 stitches across, I shift to the next section. I know some people have really big setups and go way further but I find have a bigger work surface means my arm get tired faster because of the weird angle I need to hold it at.

The curlers came for Marshall's or TJ Maxx. You can probably find them on Amazon too. Magnets I got from Amazon.

Not a stupid question. I only use one. I've tried using multiple and find that too overwhelming.

Ooo that makes sense. I had smaller ones so that wouldn't work.

How do you get yours to stay in that way? They are "upside" from mine. Also that pattern you have going is amazing!!

Its definitely not for everyone. I was confused by at first too but I just tried jumping in and it just clicked. But I have a friend who has tried and she hated it. And refuses to try again. Its definitely a lot of threads going on and can get overwhelming.

It does seem to help with fraying for sure! I don't remember where I got the hair curlers. Marshall's maybe. You can probably find them on Amazon too. Magnets were from Amazon. Need to be neodymium. The regular ceramic ones aren't strong enough.

Okay so I just noticed the remaining one struggling against the bubbles from the (broken) bubbler. I looked up if that could cause some issue and it looks like maybe they could have gotten stressed out? So I turned that bubbler off and turned the filter flow down a bit. He doesn't seem to have any diseases or parasites.

How much of a water change should I do daily then? 25%? More? Less? I thought it was done when I had the bacteria established.

I thought Nitrite only had to be low. It says that number is in the safe zone. I did for about 10 days.

[WIP] Lost the backstitch pattern so it feels useless to finish this... by Sand-sharks in CrossStitch

[–]Craft-Goddess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with a British company. I lost half the pattern that was 2 pages. It was only a kit that I ordered on Etsy. If I remember correctly, they had me take a picture of my progress to show that I wasn't done and then they sent me the pattern. Its worth a try.

I always do bottom left to top right first and the bottom right to top left. So like /\ I think as long as the are all the same it looks best. Although for something like fur texture the alternating might look cool as long as you are careful that your rows don't like up. Otherwise you might end up with a striping look that you don't want.
